Sara Evans sang "Amazing Grace" at the President's Dinner in July this year. She belted out that song, everybody was in awe. It is a treat to hear her sing. She will not disappoint! (and that is on top of being 7 or 8 months pregnant)
Hey there..I'm in Missouri, too :)
What? No Dennis Miller? They should bring him on board.
I absolutely hate Aerosmith. I still remember Steve Tyler's destruction of the National Anthem at the (2001) Indianapolis 500. Yuck. |
The TV monitors in the media center carried the Indy (500). Everyone was laughing when they showed A.J. Foyt's expression during Tyler's version of the anthem. I bought several Aerosmith albums and cd's during their earlier years. Once Tyler completely blew out his throat and started just screeching and screaming, I stopped listening to them. It is amazing that some people can get by on show presence, or something. I want someone to actually carry a tune or melody and not growl, rap, screech, scream, squeal, or whatever. |
Um - not sure why this list has to impress me in COMPARISON to the silly DNC "show", which was laughable and pathetic. BTW, Michael Moore WILL be "at" the RNC, in the distance, getting more air time than anything going on at the actual convention, unfortunately. Sigh...
I find myself wishing SOME closet Republicans of 'star' or 'famous' status would show up, regardless. It's sad that people have to sacrifice reputation and career in Hollywood and/or elsewhere to be a blasted conservative or confess to same.
Re: the entertainment. The Statler Brothers will make the Buck Owens crowd happy and granted there's a crowd of 'em to be MADE happy, but I still, and I don't think it's absolutely wrong, wish some 'current' 'big names' besides some Country Western types might show up. I shan't back down on this one!! It needn't be rap, for God's sake. But SOMETHING a little rock and roll wouldn't gripe the soul TOO badly, would it?
There's a clue.
