VIETNAM VETERALNS AGAINST THE WAR, INCORPORATED (VVAW)
Reference is made to the memorandum at Washington, D.C> (WDC), dated September 15, 1971, concerning the VVAW.
On October 10,1971, a confidential source, who has provided reliable information in the past, advised that at WDC the VVAW, an anti-war veterans organization incorporated in New York, lacks cohesiveness and direction. The source advised this condition has resulted from/the disenchantment of local VVAW [WORD REDACTED] supporters, mainly [PART OF THE SENTENCE REDACTED] and John Kerry, a leading VVAW spokesman.
The source advised that local supporters became dissatisfied with the VVAW following a speech by John Kerry on September 27, 1971, at George Washington University (GWU), WDC.
A second confidential source, who has provided reliable information in the past, advised that on September 27, 1971, John Kerry addressed a capacity crowd at Gaston Hall, GWU. Kerry related his impression of national frustration resulting from an apparent powerlessness to bring about a change of United States policy toward Vietnam. Kerry stated that Americas socio-economic condition has been adversely affected by this sense of frustration. The source advised that Kerry emphasized the need to utilize the political process to bring an end to the war in Vietnam.
On October 10, 1971, the first source advised that Kerrys speech was received by local VVAW supporters as a clear indication that John Kerry is an opportunist with personal political aspirations. Therefore, the source advised, support has been withdrawn from the New York office in general and from John Kerry in particular.
My comment; END OF DOCUMENT
And in an FBI document dated November 12, 1971 the following excerpt is found concerning John Kerrys speech in Norman Oklahoma at the University of Oklahoma on during a convention by VVAW, from November 5, 6, & 7, 1971. The following is an excerpt this document. The entire conference lacked coordination and appeared to be a platform for JOHN KERRY, National Leader of VVAW, rather than for VVAW and Winter Soldier Investigation (WSI).
My commit; END OF DOCUMENT
We read here that John Kerry was using the VVAW to advance his own ambitions and not those of the VVAW, and by so doing he was causing a riff in the VVAW organization. Was John Kerry trying to take over the VVAW?
There is one other interesting note in this FBI document that bears looking into:
The audience for a speech by John Kerry was quite large. A workshop held after KERRYs speech was attended by quite a few people including one student from Iran, who spoke to the crowd as well as the parents of a Marine who died in combat in Vietnam.
My comment; END OF DOCUMENT
This last part I find interesting for a couple of reasons: 1. Who was this student from Iran, and why was he speaking to this group? 2. What organization(s) did this student from Iran represent at this convention? 3. Was this student from Iran a foreign agent, or a member of a terrorist group?

The guy is a convaluted power seeker. I pray that the people of this nation wake up and see what a phoney balony he really is.
Maybe our fellow Persian bloggers can shed some light on the very last sentence; maybe it rings a bell or might lead to something through their connections. Great post, SP!
Interesting that the speech was at Gaston Hall. There is a Gaston Hall at Georgetown University in DC, and it is unlikely that George Washington U. also has a Gaston Hall. That's a major mistake in an FBI report. Any GWU people out there who can tell us if there is a Gaston Hall at GW?
College campus demonstrations and participation at events by Iranian students to garner support for such demonstrations were commonplace in the lead up to the overthrow of Shah Reza Pahlavi in the 70s, if you'll recall. Such events were presented as moves for freedom.
Hmm... This FBI file is a treasure trove! He's sinking, sinking....
That's an interesting report date. It's the day after the Kansas City assassination plot meeting ended (held Nov. 12-15). The meeting Kerry denied for years having attended but when confronted with evidence fell back on the trusty faulty memory excuse.
Kerry Still Backpedaling on Presence at 1971 Anti-War Meetings
But can't you hear the spin? "See, he wasn't really serious about being a member of the VVAW, he was just doing it to work on his political career. You cannot take anything he said as a member of the VVAW, therefore, as sincere. It was just what he needed to do to launch his political career. He may have used poor judgment in how he went about it, but that's all you can say."
Kerry will say he was on a deep cover mission with the CIA to do precisely that; fracture the VVAW.
.
I think it is pertinent to note: Kerry emphasized the need to utilize the political process If you ask me, there is a whole "group" of these "new democrats" from that "era" who are utilizing the political process to push an agenda.
Please, add me to your ping list if you get it going!
