Is Bush Gonna Visit the Deep South? (Vanity)

Does anyone know if W is gonna make it to AL, upper FL, GA or MS for a campaign visit? I've checked the website and I find nothing scheduled.

This is something I've been wondering myself! (I was disgusted to find that the ambulance-chasin' Breck Girl had the effrontery to make his way down here, though! GA doesn't want his kind around!)

He was in NW Florida last Monday for several speaking stops. My dil got tickets for me, my dd, and granddaughter. I drove all the way down from Tuscaloosa but the weather was bad, and they stopped the traffic getting into the area about 10 cars ahead of me. Sigh.

But we did get to see GW ride by and my grandsons got to hear him speak.

I tried 8/17 through 11/1 and nothing was scheduled. Seems awfully strange to me that he's not coming to the Bible Belt. Perhaps they just haven't confirmed venues and posted?

Hope that he does. I have spent time in Vicksburg and Kennesaw- found both to be delightful places, full of decent people.

He has GA, AL, and MS in the bag. Doubtful he'd make an appearance here unless he opens up a good-sized lead.

North Florida on the other hand makes sense as every vote there will count.

Sigh is right! I'd be happy with a drive by. BTW, what is dd? DUH!

I think he's focusing on states he needs to win. Probably for the best. I'd rather have four more years than risk having Kerry in office because GW visited places which were already in his column.

He was in Nashville recently just maybe 700 yards from my house at a big fundraiser at an estate.

New Rome Tacitus and I were there counter-protesting the unwashed.

*I realize Nashville ain't Deep South.

dd = dear daughter, dil = daughter-in-law.

Ah, okay. Good sense triumphs over my sentimental thinking. :-)

"found both to be delightful places, full of decent people."

So true. My Georgia born oldest son is currently in Fresno, but planning to make it back to God's country by the new year.

We were in rain so hard we were hydroplaning. My granddaughter was only 3 weeks old last week, so we kept having to stop to feed, burp, change, etc.

We also saw Jeb.

I'm so glad y'all are home safe, even if you are a bit water logged.

I would think he would need to stop in Georgia to firm up the base there.

Maybe he'll need to come nearer to campaign for another GOP candidate.

As much as I like Georgia (almost bought a place in Kennesaw), I do miss my home soil of (crazy) California. An ancestor of mine was killed around Lake Alatoona opposing Sherman's march- I stopped there when I drove across the US to see if I could find him. Lovely, peaceful, decent and affordable. Almost stayed there- except that I was expected at my sister's house in NYC.
