The USA Men's Basketball team is losing by 22 points at the half to Puerto Rico. This is the largest deficit ever faced by a USA Olympic Basketball team since they went to NBA players.
Only one team showed up to play in the first half.

This is one time to celebrate a loss of "Team USA". Basketball is a stupid sport anyhow, not a real sport like Football. And these pituitary freak egomaniacs are scum and worthy of our comtempt. Iverson, Bryant et al are detestable anti-role-models for our children to scorn and ignore.

Simply put, White Basketball players need not apply. I wish it were as easy as 'There aren't enough white players.' It's deeper than that. It's the playground mentality and the players' emphasis on Jordanian flash (rather than Jordanian dedication to constant improvement) that has brought the level of play in the NBA down to its lowest level since the days of the narrow lane and the set shot.
Get used to the idea that Europeans or Africans will continue to beat Team USA.
I don't believe the USA has ever lost to an African team, just Europeans, South Americans, and now, those from Caribbean U.S. Commonwealths!

This group looks like a basketball team made up of catchers and shortstops. LOL!

I'd must rather have college players. The problem is that there are not enough world-class players that attend college anymore.

"What a lovely bunch of coconuts" the American team was.
They were in a hurry to do nothing.
They had finished any play they started.
They looked like a pathetic group this time out.

I'll look for follow up, but this morning, Argentina versus Serbia Montenegro, that was a Classic, with Ginobili making a last second, falldown in the lane basket. I'd like to see the US, a good amateur team take it; but to see other countries take Naismith's game so seriously is good to.

It feels better to blame Larry Brown than to think about the fact that we are probably going to get drubbed at least 2-3 more times in this tourney..lol
At least Carmelo knows how to play against zone from going to Syracuse

"Iverson was 1-10 shooting 3's. "Of interest, papers report Iverson was fined for leaving his Rolls for a week in a handicapped spot while he travelled.

Shows a lack of quality in people we have on the team.
How is it the team did not prepare for the zone defense and work out much earlier together?

This bunch stinks. We'd be better served with a talented group of amateurs who learned to play as a team. (Of course that's almost unheard of in the U.S. any longer.)
I couldn't agree more

Because no one on this team short of Carmello and Dwane Wade can regularly hit a 18 ft jumper.
Iverson is inconsistent at best, and the rest are just drive to the goal players
To: montag813
Yeah, because in football there aren't any egomaniacs at all. No thugs either. There would never be a scandal in football with rape or murder by the players....oh wait, there was a rape and a murder scandal in football...ooops.
Football has the same anti-role-models as the NBA has.

Makes you wonder what geniuses came up with this mix.
They needed Kobe who would have been an effective come from behind player.
