Just a teeny item, but a few months ago, Kerry boosted his ability to command by claiming to have been Officer of the Deck on a ship with "nuclear weapons." This must have been the Gridley. Were guided missile frigates nuclear-armed? Or was the Gridley ferrying nukes to the carriers off VM? If the latter, did Kerry reveal information that may still be classified today?
Bump to that.
Moreover, the article appeared in major papers in Dallas, St, Louis, and Seattle. Those are mainstream papers, aren't they? Again, to my surprise (and my gratification) the SBVT book and protest, and coverage of return fire (so to speak), is not being blacked out completely.
The legs may be growing in length and strength...
It is difficult to maintain a complete blackout regarding a book that is a #1 bestseller on Amazon.com, even before it is released. The best the media can do is what they did here, insult the veterans making the charges and put up a few statements from vets who defend Kerry.
Good morning.
I may be wrong, but I believe there was a "NSU" listed in those carefully vetted medical records that john kerry's campaign released, then pulled from the web site. NSU means non-specific urethral infection which was how good medics protected troops who contracted gonhorrhea (sp?) from getting punished for damaging government property. Vung Tau on Cap St. Jacque was an in-country R&R site that was not far by Swiftboat from kerry's AO.
That also brings up the question of R&Rs and passes. Can kerry's time in the field (on the boat?) be reduced even more by time spent in Vung Tau, or on Tu Do and Hai Ba Trung streets in Saigon. Of course it goes without saying that I apologize to john kerry if I'm wrong about him getting the clap.

I believe you're right. I've also read that Kerry had an NSU.
For this story to even be mentioned in the Liberal Seattle press shows that it has legs. Big chinks in their armor are starting to appear.
When the RNC starts hammering away at everything he did post-Vietnam, he's probably going to put himself in for another Purple Heart.
You are right on target! Fox can--and based on what I've read lately, should--be replaced as a news channel for conservatives.
Yes, they were nuclear-capable.
The Gridley (DLG-21, now CG-21) was a Leahy-class guided missile frigate with Terrier missile systems fore and aft. The Terrier missile had nuclear warhead capability in addition to its conventional anti-aircraft missiles.
The Gridley also had an ASROC (anti-submarine rocket) launcher midships. It was capable of firing nuclear weapons as well as conventional torpedoes.
I can't imagine a situation where they would have been ferrying them anywhere. If they had them aboard, it would have been for their own use.
A ship is described as nuclear-capable if it has systems that are able to launch nuclear weapons. That fact is unclassified.
The presence or absence of nuclear weapons on any particular ship is classified. That's why the term nuclear-armed isn't used since that would indicate their presence.
The media's agenda is the same as it was when Clinton was running for office. If you don't like the issue .. ignore it.
IT WON'T WORK THIS TIME. While the media is willing to ignore it .. it has proven to us that we don't need the MSM to inform us anymore. Their silence is sinking their own boat along with Kerry's.
