Speaking of barbecue, we like to make sure every gas grill we buy has a side burner as well. It comes in very handy when the power goes out for a few days.
We lost power for about four days when Tropical Storm Gabrielle came through SW Florida in 2001. Most of the country doesn't know about that storm because it hit right after 9/11. It killed me to know the terrorists had attacked, but to not have the ability to watch the news coverage.
Everybody down this way in Sarasota County thought Charley would hit up in Pinellas or Hillsborough around 8:00 p.m. last night. The Charlotte County folks were really surprised when it came ashore early around 4:00 p.m. The death toll is going to end up pretty high, but it would be even worse if Charlotte had been a more urbanized county.
Stay low!

This has been the most wonderful summer I can remember.
GRASS IS STILL GREEN!!
It should be brown by now after weeks of nothing below 100.
It is ridiculously wonderful....only had maybe 7 days above 100 tops and lots of days in the 80's....and this week it has almost all bee in the 70's!
70's in August!
:)

Strange, but nice too. I can't believe another cool front is on the way! That is wonderful news, august is usually miserably hot here in south east Texas.

I hope Earl goes elsewhere!Amen to that. My wife and I have a long-planned trip to Ft. Myers next weekend (flying in from Ohio) to visit some friends there. Haven't spoken with them yet, but plan to call Monday evening to see how they are doing.

I kept an eye on the upper level winds and the water vapor sat. photos. Was reasonably sure it was going to lean east but had no idea it would jump to a Cat 4. That was scary. Andrew waited untill the last minute to balloon to Cat 5.
I have a Coleman stove. Since Coleman fuel sells out quicker than water, I got the one that runs on unleaded gasoline. If I need more fuel, I can get it from the mower or the car.

here is a computer model forecast for six days from now, notice the little green/blue spot headed towards Fla west coast, that would be earl.
Now these models are not accurate 6 days out. But you might want to rethink your plans.

Bush is doing it for his pals in Big Construction time for a conscientious, nonpartisan, objective, and revealing documentary; perhaps it could be called "Centigrade Category 4"

The most I could find was 19 named storms in 1995. That would take it to T, as they don't use Q as well az XYZ.

Thanks for the computer model, but I sure had a hard time figuring it out! I have fairly severe color blindness, so it reminded me of one of those old Peter Maxx paintings. I finally found the outline of the USA, though. Say, does it look grey to you?
