On NO!
He looks like he is taking a similar path to Charely.
Pray this doesn't happen.

Most of them take this path. I don't know if this one will turn or not. This may be a Texas storm.
To: CindyDawg
Lets hope and pray this one fizzles away.
I don't wish anyone destruction ... well ... except that Kerry is creamed by Bush.

All the models have Earl moving west of Fla, things can change but odds are Fla will not get hit by Earl.

What would happen if we drpped big cluster bombs on the outer bands while over the oceans to beak up the intensity?
To: jpsb
So you're sending it to TX? Man.

What would happen if we dropped big cluster bombs We would be wasting our time and bombs.
I don't have the numbers, but I am pretty sure that the energy contained in a hurricane dwarfs that of anything man-made.

Hurricanes are one of nature's way of tranferring engery from the tropics to the northern lattitudes.
There is nothing man can do to alter that.

I know, bummer. They tried that on the Beverly Hillbillies with Daisy ('we're gonna drop silver iodine right IN HER EYE!') to no avail, alas.

Hi where on Galveston Bay do you live? We had a house on west bay on Tiki Island for more than 10 years. We sold it 2 years ago. I miss it badly.

that already looks better organized than Earl. Yes, it does. I'm hoping it just turns north while well out to sea.

Thanks for the link to the 1900 Galveston storm. My grandfather survived that storm & we all grew up on stories about it. He was young & unmarried & he was put in a work detail that collected bodies. He moved to Houston as soon as he could.

You live right where I lived when I was a baby. I think I lived there from 1940 till 1943. My earliest memories are of that bay.
