The absurdity of almost being killed by our own allies in a country in which President Nixon claimed there were no American troops was very real."
There is the lie. He NEVER WAS in Cambodia. The Swiftboat book Unfit for Command addresses that issue. And Nixon, who had WON election in November 1968, did not take office until January, 1969.
John Kerry is a LIAR! I think mostly Bush haters would vote for Kerry. I say George Bush in a landslide win November 2nd !

...but based on outright lies from 7 men from the Detroit Winter Soldier Rally, who all claimed to be Vietnam veterans that committed atrocities such as those you described. Give us their names. I may have missed it.
As you well know, only 2 of those men were even in the military, and they were never in combat, and the other 5 all claimed to be Navy SEALS in the Top Secret Phoenix Program, but they were never even in the military.
Again, name the names, and document the debunking.
It did not matter to you. In fact, Congress investigated and discovered that most of the so-called highly-decorated veterans at the Detroit Rally were also not even in the military.
Widely repeated amongst anti-Kerry folks, but the alleged investigation, by the Naval Investigative Service, has disappeared or never happened.
Only one witness so far has claimed to have seen it (or heard a summary of its conclusions - he can't remember): historian Guenter Lewy.
But the Navy can't find it or even say for certain it ever happened:
"Government officials today cannot verify that Naval Investigative Service report's existence.
'We have not been able to confirm the existence of this report, but it's also possible that such records could have been destroyed or misplaced,' said Naval Criminal Investigative Service public affairs specialist Paul O'Donnell."

Use caution in attacking Kerry and the Winter Soldier Investigation. I believe I read a credible beginning of a debunking of Joe Bangert's WSI testimony in a letter to FR's wintersoldier.com.
I believe that further investigation will find many other flaws. And "wintersoldier.com" will have played a major role in that. But most of the hard work remains for the future.
Premature claims of victory will backfire.
Try this Constitutional Amendment on for size as it applies to John Kerry.
Amendment XIV, Section 3 - No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
