I believe this is a real benefit for me, personally along with all my other brothers from 33 years ago. A good thing about Kerry making it the center piece of his campaign and bragging about being a hero, is that awoke many Vietnam veterans and now they are telling the story of Kerry and his lies to their kids, grandkids, coworkers, friends and neighbors. Many of us had never thought we would be able to rid ourselves of the scourge of his lies, and many hadn't discussed their feelings about it for many, many years.

Bingo. Kerry's candidacy is the last, great opportunity to overturn the Left's Big Lie about Vietnam and those who served there.

When I think of our service men and women in harms way I sometimes can't even speak as I get full of tears and I start to tremble.

I am 53 yo, former Firefighter.

They make me very proud!

You can't hang a campaign on it.

Certainly. I don't disagree with you on that at all. I have not been very comfortable with this story from the beginning. But, I am too young to have been effected the way these men were by their experiences. I realize that Kerry came home after 120 and 'a wake up' and defecated publicly all over every Man that had fought, and was fighting that war. They have the opportunity and the right to be heard and set the record straight.

But, I absolutely do not want to hang any aspect of the ongoing campaign on this issue.

If anyone has corroboration that Bush signed a 180-form, please let me know. Thanks.

I agree.

I think there are a lot of people getting an education about what the veterans of Vietnam have gone through and have had to put up with all these years from civilians, as well as those in government.

Puts a whole new meaning to Clinton's "loathing the military" quote.

The Swift Vets had hired a private investigator to talk to some of the people before while they were organizing. They wanted to make sure they had the facts first, I'm sure.

The private investigator interviewed several of Kerry's crew (perhaps without them knowing why).

Then when Swift Vets came out as a group, Kerry's campaign told those guys not to talk anymore.

I think O'Neill mentioned this in his Hardball interview with Christine. It may be in that transcript.

Clear things up, any? ...??

Yeah, thanks.

You're right about the troll comment. My troll detector might need a little adjustment. I'll crank it down a bit. (There sure have been a lot of them recently, though.)

I guarantee that the SEALS will be on Kerry's case if this is not true. They absolutely hate phonies.

Why wouldn't they welcome it? [showing evidence that Bush signed the Form 180]

Because they don't want to show any hint of getting involved in this battle. If Bush signed the 180, the media already has that evidence in their hands.

That you and the Men for whom you speak are far better Men than John Kerry?... that you should be honored and respected for your service and sacrifice?... that what you were doing was right?

Yep! Pretty much. Thank you, Sir! ... All of you.

You have been hit a bit hard here today. Potentially cryptic taglines and relatively recent registrations can cause some suspicion, please don’t take it too personally.

In an earlier post I said I might have misunderstood your response to the administration moderator. I think I did. I think you were asking a question separate then the administration moderator’s question about your tag line.

Sometimes people here type before they think, that does not mean they are bad people – just occasionally silly. I do not exempt myself from that, I wish I could.

I usually don’t make personal appeals – in fact I think this is the only time I have – but as I said, you were hit relatively hard for someone who was not overly obnoxious. Welcome to Free Republic and I hope you stick around.

MSNBC - Dems skeptical of Bushs service file <-- Link
Russert's Near Miss - BuzzFlash Guest Commentary <-- Link (story is inaccurate, it says Kerry has released all records, but Bush has not)

Most stories from the February timeframe refer to the FULL RELEASE of George Bush's records. I haven't seen a reference to signing of a Form 180, but assume that such took place.

Yes! Kerry is wrong on so many levels, some of them much deeper and more important than this election campaign.
