"Old, stubborn idiots tend to vote Democratic.
Should we feel sorry for them?
Eye inland, guts to 109 reported. Reporters doing live reports from beach at ground zero.
There are TWO tropical depressions in the Atlantic - another one formed this afternoon.
My husband is on the emergency county team and they held a press conference about an hour and a half ago.
If the storm tracks like they say it will, toward the center of the state, they'll be deconstructing the emergency preps by midnight.
That includes closing shelters, etc.
But for now, everything's on hold! They want to make sure the storm does what the forecaster's are predicting, LOL.
They were wrong once. But we did dodge the bullet as far as storm surge because even if it came north straight to us we still would not be dealing with surge in Tampa Bay.
I've quit Hannity and have been listening to Todd. It's much more captivating!
LMAO, gallows humor..If the other side of the F4 hurricane doesn't get him, than the 20 ft water rush will take out the news van!

Crotty just announced Orange County is the center of the bullseye on the projected track.
Charley is pushing a wall of water 10 feet tall.
Everything I've been told about Andrew intensifying once it hit landfall was due to it slowing down hitting land BUT it was moving so quick and was so strong, the area around the eye basically exploded.

Easley Activates National Guard, Declares State Of Emergency For N.C.
Did you see the above statement, mhking? Remember, hurricane season's peak is still a month away, on Sept. 10. Just damn!
By my estimate, this thing's gonna be in Orlando within five or six hours - it's moving so fast that it will be able to hold on to a fair amount of its strength. There is going to be a lot of structural damage inland and a tremendous amount of agricultural losses.
Looks dark there though.
Here is the St. Pete Cam for the Clearwater Memorial Causeway.

How does the sky look by you live? And where are you in reference to Tampa? Is Tampa offline due to the storm?
Must run (for congress), see you all soon, stay safe and God bless...prayers for Port Charlotte victims particularly.
Isn't that the truth..........LOL.
Next town in-line to get hit (up from Port Charlotte) is Arcadia.
How high up is the land there? Any real hills till that area west of Orlando?
