The Left and The Right
Look at these two men, the left and the right,
Both wore the uniforms, and both joined the fight,
One fought on water, the other on land,
One stood alone, the other with his band.
The soldier was frail, his stature was small,
the Army only wanted burly men, after all,
but join up he did, and he entered our lives
with the boldest of deeds, so tell the archives.
For standing alone, through the smoke and the fire,
to stop the foe was his only desire
as he laid low his enemies in pain and in pallor,
and a grateful nations highest honor reads, Valor.
He was there all alone, no tapes or camcorders,
leading the fight for his men, not reporters,
no ribbons or medals or agenda had he,
but he stared down Death, so that you and I could be free.
Now, turn your eyes leftward, and what do you see,
looking at you across time, now who could he be?
He went off to war, this child of wealth,
not in service to me or to you, but himself.
He returned in scant months, with a record overblown,
A man on a mission, not ours, but his own.
He took his own camera, he took his own notes,
So that when he returned, he could claim all your votes.
And for thirty-odd years, no one questioned this man
but Today, you and I have our chance, if we can,
Because unto our soldiers, honors we bequeath,
but we also consider the man thats beneath.
The man on the right was a poor boy to start,
who won fame and renown with a fearless bold heart,
who is utterly deserving of the title of Knight
should it had been bestowed upon the man on the right.
The man on the left lives a fantasy life,
with ill-gotten ribbons and a spiteful rich wife,
who uses others as tools, even his former crew,
in his lust after power over others, and you.
So let this be lesson and thought for us all,
that the low and base-born can be noblest of all,
So join with me now, in broad daylight,
shun the man on the left, and salute the man on the right.

Kerry is no hero. Some have served, yet deserve no respect. He is one of those. He dirtied the uniform he wore, and slandered those left behind.
My dad, a Marine who fought in the Palau islands and in numerous recon missions, never, ever brought up his service. Only with great prodding would he discuss some of what he went through. I learned that Honor is what you do when nobody is looking.
I'm not Fonda Kerry.

If Kerry's answer to every question was not "I'm a war hero from Viet Nam", he could probably get a pass on it. He made it an issue in the primary and it is all he says.
Kerry type quotes
"I believe live begins at conception, The mothere's right to end live begins at the same time. I fought in Viet Nam."
"I fought in Viet Nam therefore I can win the War on Terrorism".
"I can fix the health care sytem because I fough tin Viet Nam'.
"I'm all for family values, I fought in Viet Nam."
It is sickening. I think it takes courage to wear the uniform in any capacity at any time. But it does not give the vet a fear pass to rewrite history.

"I think this is just so sad. Both of these men are patriots in my book, because both fought for our country. While I like George Bush, Kerry saw alot more action and operated in one of the most dangerous parts of Vietnam. To deny the sacrifice he made is dishonest. To not respect the men who served under him, who love and appreciate him is sad. It is awful that partisan politics dictate how we view and judge our soldiers instead of the truth. The truth, now, only means those stories we WANT to believe because we either love or hate Kerry. The real truth is probably in between the stories of his detractors and those of his supporters. BUT, we will never really know."
There is one constant truth that cannot be denied:
Kerry accuses President Bush of lying to lead us into a war with Iraq.
Kerry is a self admitted liar who lied to insure America would lose the Vietnam war. He lied about an American policy to commit atrocities, he lied to give aid and comfort to a vicious communist enemy, he lied to insure more American Boys would die.
John Kerry is a lying traitorous 8astard. John Kerry, enemy mine.

We do know.
You're in over your head, by the way.
You just aren't clever enough to carry it off.

Some time between 1969 and 1970 JFnK realized that being a War Hero was not going to work so he became an Anti-War Hero and dishonored and trashed his fellow servicemen for personnel gain.
Forward in time to 2002 and now JFnK realizes his only chance to be POTUS is to trot out his old War Hero personna. Too late, it's over!

Wonderful thread, Old Sarge.
The juxtaposition of the metrosexual (I'm being kind here) and the real man is something that needs to be on a billboard.
