NLGuy, one thing you must realize is that this site is a haven for out-patients off their meds.
What you might see as satire is some poor schlemiel's metaphysic.
Take Laz, for example,... please!
Heh heh heh
The lampoon site is hilarious.
Yes. A+. And, a sense of humor matters. How else can one survive in this world??? :)
That is one very funny site!
Bush...Cheney...Halliburton
How could I have been so blind? ;^)
National Lampoon is back? Is it back in print form or just online-----I'd get a magazine subscription in a heartbeat. I fondly remember when I was in high school my mother gave me a subscription to National Lampoon as a present. Then one day my dad got to the mail before I did and intercepted the annual Sex Issue. Any time I wanted to read my National Lampoons after that, I had to dig through my dad's dresser drawers.
The yearbook parody was re-issued a year ago, those interested should be able to find it in bookstores. As others have noted, there are little touches that one doesn't notice until after multiple readings.
The OC and Stiggs special issue (from 1982 or so) was also sheer brilliance. I want a Schwab Insurance tee-shirt.
EDWARDS ANNOUNCES 'NEW' AMERICA
(AP) PODUNK, AZ -- Campaigning on a train across several battleground states, Democratic Vice Presidential nominee John Edwards announced to an enthusiastic crowd of supporters that he has discovered a 'third' America. "When I campaigned through Iowa and New Hampshire and, uh, all those other places, I thought there were two Americas: One for the privileged and another for those who work hard day to day to provide for their families. But riding on this train, I've discovered another America."
When asked to explain, a campaign spokesman said "Come on...". Another spokesman elaborated: "I mean, Edwards is rich, but Teresa is just insanely rich. I mean, come on, she's, like, a whole America of her own. And she won't even eat her own ketchup."
The Kerry campaign has denied persistant rumors that both John and Elizabeth Edwards have daily had an incidence of slipping and falling on the Kerry/Edwards campaign train.
This is brilliant. Satirical and deadly. I love it.
I don't know if he's involved in any way or not, but this is exactly the sort of effort that I was expecting to see when Rush Limbaugh, a couple of weeks ago, made mention of "another team on the ground" that was going to see to it that despite the elite media giving him and his supporters a pass on every outrageous thing they say and do, "Kerry isn't going to get away with it".
