The last few days have provided jaw dropping satire regarding Kerry. It may be difficult to accurately portray some of it, but yesterday on Brit Hume, Juan Williams read a statement to the effect that Kerry had said he was on the border of Viet Nam/Cambodia, deep in enemy territory. That would be like saying you are on the California/Nevada border, deep in California. The point being is that I can't understand how someone can be "deep" into a territory while being on the border.

Another irony is the "secret mission" with the SEALS. Oh man, is this ever ripe for lampooning. Kerry could be sent on "secret missions" to arrange for the first ping pong match with China. A secret mission in a U2 with former President Bush to deliver the birthday cake to the Ayatollah Khomeini. The Falklands war? Kerry was there on a secret mission. Neil Armstrong wasn't the first man to step on the moon. Kerry was there first, on a secret mission. And (shhhhh), he helped Algore invent the internet and write "Love Story" (based on his flaming courtship of TeRAYza). It's just that he can't tell anyone that he did these things. It's secret.

Don't forget, the National Lampoon was an early venue for the humor of P.J. O'Rourke.

Does anyone remember "The Bulgemobile" and "Baby Creosote's Iron Cradle?" How about "This is Utah... Utah, you doorknob!. That's his era.

Firstly, am I correct in assuming that this was done as a parody on MoveOn.org specifically because the left wouldn't, and couldn't, understand the nuances of such a parody and the right would?

Secondly, do you know what "/sarcasm" means yet and should I have put one on this reply?

PJ O'Rourke is not a human. He's a god.

What about the special issue describing life in Dacron, Ohio? P.J.'s a native of Toledo.

Hopefully, somone else remembers the NatLamp High School yearbook parody. It was released during their early, funny years and it is maybe the funniest magazine I've ever read. PJ makes an appearance as do many of the characters that would later reappear in the movie Animal House. That parody was so jam packed with funniness (Is that a word?) you could pick up on new stuff you never noticed before on the 10th or 12th time you read it.
