***Fact: In 25 Years It Will Be Washington, Lincoln And Bush 43***
Stardate: 0408.11

Posted on 08/11/2004 7:08:05 AM PDT by The Wizard

And that's the REAL reason the demonrats hate GWB: not only is he everything they hoped billyboy would be, he will be remembered for planting the seeds that grew into peace to the Middle East.....

Washington was the Father of our country, and Lincoln freed the slaves, and GWB started the journey that will eventually bring peace to this troubled part of the world, and the rats hate him for it, so much so, that I wouldn't put ANYTHING past them.......

The real democrats, who controlled the party when Tip was the Man, lost control to the clintonistas, and he was so bad, the party regulars fled as the goon squad came in to defend their leader......

But as I sat watching Rummy from Afgahistan today speaking about 9 million folks so hungry to vote they risk their lives to register, it told any logical man that so it will be in Iraq, and all the other kingdoms throughout the world.....

The time of kings is over, now is the time of the little man, and he never had a stronger, braver friend than Ronald Reagan or GWB......

While not asking for this honor, GWB had it blown up on him on 9-11, and the world will be a safer, better place when this is done.

God Bless and protect GWB....

You're a little late. :)

In summary:

Not mad there is not slavery, but Lincoln had little to do with that.

As for why he's a liberal, you need to read this thread.

Have fun!

Secession is not prohibited. The federal government was not delegated with the power to prevent secession. It was debated in convention as a power of the militia and refused.

Per the 10th Amendment, the powers not delegated to the federal government by the Constitution, nor prohibited to the states by the Constitution, remain to the states.

"Lincoln INVADED a foreign country, conquered it, and expanded the US into its borders. Pure and simple."

Umm hate to break it to you guy but that alleged "country" he invaded had just tried to seceed itself from the country it already belonged to and it tried to do it illegally I might add.

" But I won't whitewash history to make Lincoln out to be something he clearly was not."

Not sure what country's history you claim to be defending but it's not AMERICAN history. There's nothing to whitewash about Abe Lincoln. He was a great president.

Period.

"Good Presidents don't ignore the constitution and cause the death of at least 600,000 people for a dubious concept."

Umm are you forgetting the dubious hand that Jeff Davis and the rest of the "Confederates" had in causing those 600K deaths?

Had Davis and Co. not illegally taken the southern states out of the union...the Civil War would NEVER have happened.

Ergo...Jeff Davis is just as if not MORE responsible for the death of 600K U.S. citizens than Lincoln EVER was.

To: HawkeyeLonewolf; Old Sarge

"And your attitude is a disgrace to our armed forces Mr. "old Sarge" Kerry."

Let me tell you something. You know nothing about the attitude of the NCO that you allege as being a "disgrace" to the Armed Forces. Sarge has done and continues to do his part for this country so that idiot savants like yourself can continue to make innane comments on the forum. Actually IMHO from what I know personally of Old Sarge he is the polar opposite of what you so stupidly claim.

"You read what you want to read like a liberal. I've been very clear that I am an AMERICAN and that this is an intellectual debate (why you joined in is beyond me)."

I'm not sure what the definition of "Liberal" and "Conservative" is on your planet. And it appears by your somments that you're new here so let me explain in Sarge's defense he is NOT the Lib here. You sir, are the one sounding like you're from the James Carville wing of the DNC.

Or maybe you're one of those high and might Liberalitarians who think they are the "only true conservatives" left in the world.

Personally, I think you're neither. You're just a frustrated Troll from DU land who's upset about the Swift Vets taking your boy Kerry down a few pegs and chose to take out your frustration on the nearest person in a uniform you could find.

"I am in a position to judge you, because of the words you post here. I don't judge your military record, except when you flaunt it here like Mr. Kerry does."

You couldn't possibly be a proper judge of someone like Old Sarge because despite what you say, you don't seemto read the words he posts daily on FR. If you actually DID take the time to read them, you'd know what you say is 100% Bravo Sierra.

"But you broadbrush paint me as being something that I am not."

Oh PLUHEEEZE! You are painting everyone who disagrees with you on this issue with such a broad brush you could cover Grant's Tomb in one pass!

In short, quit trying to hi-jack a thread to espouse your twisted and antiquated, not to mention bitter views, about one of our greatest Presidents and this country as a whole.

Let the people here who actually have something meaningful to say speak and go back to what ever place haters like you thrive in.

Oh and before you try and brush me off by telling me I jumped into an arguement I had no business being in...when you mess with one man in uniform we ALL come to his aid.

What's wrong with you? Still mad he freed the slaves or what?

Lincoln defended a slave owner against his slave in court. During his career, Lincoln stumped for a lily-white west. He supported secession in 1848 voicing his displeasure against the Mexican War. In 1861 Lincoln favored a constitutional amendment guaranteeing slavery to exist forever. In 1862, during the war, he proposed one guaranteeing slavery to exist until 1900. During his administration he had a Commissioner of Immigration who shared Lincoln's policies of colonizing blacks OUT of the US of A until late 1864. In April of 1865, Lincoln asked Gen. Benjamin Butler about sending the ex-slaves that fought for the Union to dig the Panama Canal.

Lincoln did not end slavery - the 13th Amendment ended slavery.

"Lincoln did not end slavery - the 13th Amendment ended slavery."

Then who's signature is on the Emancipation Proclomation?

Why is there a big push by some people to push what Lincoln did completely out of the picture and make him almost a non-entity where the ending of Slavery is concerned?

Lincoln attempted to end slavery in another de facto country, yet left it alone in the Union states, and areas under union control including West Virgina, with the 'excepted parts are for the present left precisely as if this proclamation were not issued.' If the EP ended slavery the 13th would not have been necessary would it?

Sucker!!!

The states do NOT belong to the USA, they are not Federal Property. The Union is like a club that all the members agreed to to the terms for joining. They had the right to leave the club.

P.S. I really am not trying to demean the USA as a club, but for example purposes it works.

Decades of his white supremacist postions. From his EP: 'And upon this act, sincerely believed to be an act of justice, warranted by the Constitution upon military necessity'

A war measure, designed to incite rebellion amongst the slaves (murder their owners), designed to prevent European intervention. It was not a gesture of compassion for slaves.

You are completely wrong and this post demonstrated it.

I have not attacked those who disagreed with me -- that's what debate it about. I have defended myself against the unwarranted attacks by Old Sarge. His tactics came across as liberal and he was called on it.

Because Lincoln DID NOT END SLAVERY.

Got it yet.

The E.P. was a feeble attempt at issuing an order to another country. It had no legal bearing. The Amendment is the ONLY thing that ended slavery.
