Libertarian author sees no big impact by Moore (David T. Hardy)

ARIZONA DAILY STAR

Tucson attorney, Second Amendment crusader and raconteur David T. Hardy is at it again.

His latest book, "Michael Moore is a Big Fat Stupid White Man," ($22.95, Reganbooks, with co-author Jason Clarke) is in its fourth week on the New York Times Bestseller List.

Hardy says the reaction to the book has been "a load of hate mail, but a lot of sales." He hasn't spoken to Moore himself about it. "No, I fear he will not see the puckish humor involved," Hardy jokes.

Hardy, 53, a Libertarian, previously challenged the Brady handgun law in court and dogged the federal government over Waco, co-authoring the 2001 book, "This is not an assault: Penetrating the web of official lies regarding the Waco incident."

Mr. Hardy is a local hero in Tucson, now even "moore" so! One time he gave me some great legal advice for free (even though he doesn't know me) just because he's a great guy. I wonder if the Tucson Library will stock his new book? I requested them to acquire it and so can anyone registered in the City of Tucson/Pima County library system. (hint, hint)

I had the pleasure of getting to know David Hardy well on a gun-issues forum several years back, and we ended up exchanging a lot of emails and so on. He's an absolutely stand-up guy, probably the most fair and honest person I've ever encountered, and has a first-rate mind and a dogged interest in researching the hell out of things.

He's also the author of a superb book on the history of the Second Amendment, Origins and Development of the Second Amendment: A Sourcebook.

Funny...When a Libertarian does something nice, like agree with Freepers and debunk Michael Moore's stuff, he gets virtually zero replies here, yet the second they stray off the plantation and criticize Bush for the largest expansion of the welfare state since FDR, they get 300 negative replies.
