The Democrat National Committee has prepared a full-scale assault against the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth to draw their character and veracity into question, according to one anonymous source inside the DNC. The campaign of character assassination is scheduled to coincide with the release of the book Unfit for Command which reveals inconvenient facts for the Kerry campaign.
We have prepared what we call Brown Books that contain damaging military records, personal credit histories, medical histories, psychiatric histories, divorce records, you name it, our source told us. "We've got the goods on the Veterans who oppose Kerry."
The Brown Books are so called because of their distinctive plain brown covers, which contain no words. Some books have already been delivered to Kerry-friendly reporters. Others are on their way, our source told us. When asked if we could have a copy, our source declined, saying there is a limited number of Brown Books and they have been carefully inventoried to control in whose hands the books ended up.
Ultimately the Brown Books will end up in the hands of pro-Kerry news agencies and reporters.
In addition, the DNC has deployed a six member team from their press shop whose sole responsibility will be to spin and counter-spin stories about the members of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth with pro-Kerry media entities, like the Times.
When asked if this was just another example of John Kerry slandering Vietnam Vets like he did in 1971 as a member of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War our source snapped, No! This is warfare. The only way were going to get out of this is to force everyone to question their motives and credibility.
If they want to spread rumors and stories about John Kerry, well spread rumors and stories about them. And some of the things they did in Vietnam were a lot worse than what they say John Kerry did, our source concluded ominously.
You know....if these Vets were really lying, the DNC would have no problem in coming up with their evidence that John Kerry did serve honorably.......all the dems can do now is smear, which makes the Vets' stories that more credible....Where is Kerry's evidence?
>>Didn't Charles Colson go to prison for this?
Has something changed?<<
Colson was not a democrat.
If this isn't a fake, the dems have sunk to all time lows.
I was giving them the benefit of the doubt as fellow Americans. But if you say this is actually happening, I'll take your word for it.
I must say that I'm not too surprised that Dems are this slimey.
The mainstream media has virtually blacked out the Swift Boat Vets story. It will be interesting to see how the media will help the DNC attack the Swift Boat Vets without showing the incredibly damaging ad. But I'm sure it will find a way.
All Kerry had to do was ignore it like the President does when he's attacked with B S or outright refute it. He has decided to attack the messenger so all the info in the book must be true.
Any issue they raise, which they choose to pursue through the courts, will give our side access to all the records they are trying to keep private. Mark Levin said if the Kerry camp tries to sue the Swifties, he will be right on the case.
I don't know, it may be they've just learned their lesson from the Masters of Smear, the Clintons. Remember what they'd do if someone was on their case. Dig up all the dirt that they could and put it out there, send goons out to intimidate potential witnesses (Kathleen Willey and her missing cat, etc.). I'm telling you, this is just a taste of the way it will be if Kerry gets into the Presidency. He's a bit constrained now because he's only a junior Senator from a relatively small state. But as POTUS, like Clinton, he'd have the vast and incredibly powerful and intimidating apparatus of the federal government available to him to loose against his enemies. The political landscape is littered with the bodies of those who crossed the Clintons (as Billy Dale can well attest). Kerry is just following that pattern.
Interesting.
No doubt the Dims are puffing up like a big bullfrogs, hoping by their letters of intimidation that the don't get ett, or is that etten? ;)
Mmmmm, OK, but I didn't realize any of the Swift Vets were running for CinC.
sKerry's treatment of these heroes is telling. Unfortunately, given that his core support consists of unAmerican elitists, he will be applauded for once again spitting upon them.
Smeering a wheelchair-bound disabled vet. Yeah, good idea.
Swift Vets:
I'm so sorry the DNC and this truly hateful man named John Kerry will be going after your personal lives. I hope it was expected and that some conservative lawyers will take up slander suits for you against Kerry and the DNC...laughingly I'm thinking maybe the ACLU will help you.
Tell us how we can help? Whenever a sladerous article is written, please let FR know. I for one intend to write letters to that newspaper expressing my disgust for their tactics. We need to pound those news agencies with letters in support of the Swift Vets and against the DNC tactics of denigrating the messengers.
We need to continue to send articles to friends and note how disgusting Kerry is treating our Vietnam Vets AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The head guy from the Pew Research Center was interviewed on FoxNews just minutes ago and he disagrees with you.
Synopsizing; he says both the SwiftBoatVets and Moore are preaching to the choir.
He said that the undecided middle aren't going to be effected much because they are not cool, contemplative voters, they're mostly folks who take little interest in politics. They won't read a book on a Presidential candidate nor will they go to see a movie about politics.
When they are polled they are "undecided" when election day rolls around they are "undecided" and there is no "undecided" on the ballot so they usually don't vote, and when they do the split is close enough to not make much difference in the election result.
Brown books from digital brownshirts. How quaint.
Not only does it sound like an attempt at censorship by the dems and kerry, but also a bit like blackmail.(I don't recall this much intense lawyerly behavior in the past from dems over such an issue. Must be orchestrated by john edwards.
Nope; Max just thought it was.
