I got my M1A in 1998 and had it worked on by ROBAR. They applied their patented NP3 and Roguard finishes (NP3 internally) and did an action job. Then I had a buddy of mine, a SEAL sniper help me tune and zero. Finally I bought 1000rds of Federal GOLD Match 168gr JHP. Nothing but the very best for adorable little blue helmets.....I can now fire three rounds at 100yds and cover the group with a dime.

I especially like my Sheppherd Range Finding scope. I purchased it and it was calibrated at the factory for 168gr loads.

I admire your taste in initial selection and upgrades. My Savage 12FP in .223 puts 10 rounds through the same ragged hole at 100 yards with standard Winchester .223 55 gr. It's so much better than the ragged, vertical string left by a Ruger Mini-14. I've been remiss in not taking the .308 out for a similar effort. No time to play lately.
