COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The FBI is taking an interest in public storage facilities across Ohio, NBC 4's Elizabeth Scarborough reported.
Self-storage units have already been searched in Toledo, and alerts have gone out in several cities, including Columbus, Scarborough reported.
Managers of self-storage units in the Columbus area say that in the past two weeks, they've received warnings from several different agencies, including the FBI, to be on the lookout for possible terrorist activity.

If it strengthens and forms into a cat 1 or 2 and hits near Cape Hatteras, NC or anywhere on the outer banks, it will cause a LOT more damage.
Virginia and NC will flood like crazy. I'm already battening down, because I live 2 miles from the James River /Chesapeake Bay area. Flood surges are a big concern.
Those are hands that will sorely be missed when it comes time to rebuild.
I havent heard the story..did they live or die?

It shouldn't have much problem regaining cat 2 status before secondary landfall.
There will be no explosive development as we saw in the GOM but it will restrengthen towards 100-115mph IMO. It's really chugging along, we are expecting the storm to start affecting us in CT by late tomorrow night.
Flooding will certainly be a problem further north.
I don't know. It wasn't reported. You can bet that they are unnecessarily contributing to system overload if they're not dead.
I'm hearing a lot of reports of casualties.I hope they lived.
Not a good sign.
Punta Gorda.
Parts of Punta Gorda are gone. I expected to hear these kind of stories...
Hopefully the people that needed to get out did or casualty reports will pile up as people get into the areas most affected.
I think this is who you might have been asking about...everthing's fine...see below! I went on a look for an update on 'em, too.
My in laws are in North Port. About 10 miles from Venice and a couple of miles from Port Charlotte. Just talked to them on the phone and they said the hurricane is going to miss them. Supposedly they are watching their local weather. They haven't taken any precautions, no boarding of windows, nothing. Are they in trouble from what you can gather about the storm?

Just spoke to in laws in North Port. They still have power, no flooding, and just a small branch down. So, North Port made it through the storm, for those having family and friends in that area.
Mike Souders, chief of the Bradenton Fire Department, said he received a call that four firehouses in Charlotte County were destroyed, and that a station in Manatee County would send three engines and a chief to help.
Close. The post I referenced was about a couple who were 81 and 83 years old. IIRC, they live near the shore.
That thread is way too long to search. Thanks for looking.

WARNING!!!!!
I'm not going to watch the video, but is it of a "new" victim or is it someone that we already know about but the video hasn't been widely circulated?
Wow. Has the NG been called out yet?
Jeb had called them out yesterday, in anticipation of far-wider damage in Tampa Bay. I'm sure he's diverting them down there.
It appears to be a middle-eastern man. I'll check in at Itshappening.com to see if there is anything posted regarding a new video.
Can you check with NOAA and find out how many towns have not checked in yet? I know they maintain weather equipment everywhere.
