Live! Nightline is doing a story on the Kerry Vietnam controversy. I notice the correspondent is Jake Tapper, formerly a liberal reporter for Salon. We'll see...
Oh, the answer to that is clear. They attempted to ignore it and it wouldn't go away. They have now had to move to stage 2. Distort and condemn the opposition. The idea isn't to bring the Truth to the American public but to stop the momentum of the Swiftee's.
If this line of attack fails, then they move to hardball. They will start dredging up every piece of info they can about the veterans while simultaneously trying to link Bush. They are already doing the latter but the former will be the first sign of desperation exhibited.
They are not talking about facts. It is about feelings. Do any of these people interviewed know Kerry's record? This is a big whitewash. The objective is to ignore Unfit for Command and defuse its impact.
Surely you jest???

R u kiddin?
If you aren't, it is completely insane that they are presenting this flamboyant oaf as the average vet.
Total, naked, rank hypocrisy. How many times does Ketchup mention his Vietnam service on a daily basis? Does he not think people are going to start questioning it or are we just supposed to sit and nod our heads in appreciation like bobble-head dolls?
Exactly.
David Halberstam? JFK guy.......LOL.
Hardly anyone watches Nightline anyway
Will 60 Minutes do an interview with the Swifties coinciding with the release of the book?
Oh jeez--now they're turning the piece into another round Vietnam-why-were-we-there-can-we-heal-the-wounds navel gazing.
Thank God this CSM reporter is setting the record straight about why we're talking about Nam.
Let's see if they raise XMAS in Cambodia or Kerry's questionable first PH. Oh no!! Halberstam. There is no question that this is a hit piece.
Liberals always talk about feelings when they don't want to talk facts, don't they?
Yes, it's biased, but there was one titbit that was new info that needs to be dealt with. One of the swiftvets in the ad campaigned FOR Kerry in the past, and praised him for his service in 'Nam.
NOBODY QUESTIONED KERRY'S PATRIOTISM, Halberstam.
Swifties say the book will be out tomorrow.
Here's a quick bio: "Sean Kilcoyne is an artist and Vietnam War veteran who does extensive research on the 're-humanization process of veterans.'"
Exactly. I can't take Halberstam. I am out of here.
