Live! Nightline is doing a story on the Kerry Vietnam controversy. I notice the correspondent is Jake Tapper, formerly a liberal reporter for Salon. We'll see...
That is great and so effing true.
Are the people who support the "Big Three" that stupid? The frustration continues to mount up in preparation for a November 2 explosion of common sense...
Why don't they point out that those Keyes guys are on his payroll?
Kerry needs to be brought up on charges of treason.
What happened to Kerry's pronounced Brahman accent so prominent in his congressional testimony tapes??? Did it go the way of his fluent French????
Are the swiftboat people on the show or are they allowed to speak?
You all are surprised that this was going to be a slanted piece in favor of Kerry. I wasn't when I saw who was the reporter doing the piece and refused to watch it. Here's what I posted this afternoon on Traper from the ABC website.
Jake Tapper
ABCNEWS Correspondent, Washington, D.C.
Jake Tapper is an ABCNEWS correspondent based in the network's Washington bureau. He covers a range of national stories.
The author of two books, Tapper has significant print, broadcast, and online experience. He has most recently been the national correspondent for Salon.com, writing on a range of topics from political profiles to the accounting scandal at Enron. Tapper was also a columnist for TALK Magazine, and has written for The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post, and The Weekly Standard, among many other publications.
He is a frequent contributor to National Public Radio's All Things Considered. Tapper's work was included in The Best American Political Writing 2002.
Tapper has also frequently reported on American popular culture. He was the host of The Sundance Channel's 24 Frame News in 2003 and he was the correspondent for a series of VH1 news specials in 2002.
Throughout 2001, Tapper appeared on the CNN news talk show, Take Five. He has served as a substitute host on a number of CNN programs including The Point, Crossfire, and The Spin Room.
Tapper was the Washington correspondent for Salon.com from March 1999 to March 2002. His writing for Salon.com has received widespread critical acclaim, and Tapper broke a number of stories including candidate President Bush's controversial trip to Bob Jones University during the 2002 presidential campaign. Tapper's reports about Enron were nominated for a 2002 Columbia University School of Journalism online journalism award.
He is the author of Down and Dirty: The Plot to Steal the Presidency, (Little, Brown) a look at the Florida recount, and Body Slam: The Jesse Ventura Story (St. Martin's Press).
Tapper's political comic strip, "Capitol Hell" appeared in Roll Call from 1994 until 2003. He began his journalism career as a senior writer for Washington City Paper. He won a Society of Professional Journalists award for his work there. Tapper is a Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College.
Media bastards. Didn't say jack when Bush's Guard service was attacked. Turned the other cheek when Moron made his anti-Bush propaganda movie. Now a group of honorable men exercises their 1st Amendment rights and the media goes into convulsions. Oh the horror, the horror....
I thought it was Alfred E. Neumann.
Hilarious. They're interviewing "random" vets about their feelings towards Kerry, giving the impression there is an even split. All the polls show vets support Bush approx. 60%-40%
The Swift Veterans book is number one on Amazon right now
San Fran vets are liberal!
I wonder why they interviewed them? [sarc]
Of course not. It's an alphabet network. They'd rather it be a he-said she-said story. They are more than happy to gloss over the fact that vets support Bush by a wide margin.
How repesentative is this group of veterans? ABC tries to portray it as split ddown the middle. Why did they pick McCloskey? Or McCain? How about Duke Cunningham or Sam Johnson?
The earing guy is a little flamboyant. They went and got total jerkos -- a total unrepresentative sample of vets.
What is up?
I am in bleeping awe.
Probably all gays.
The people at ABC just declared this won't change anyone's vote. I disagree with them. People need to know the plotting, conniving, dishonorable Kerry for who he really is.
Welcome to the USSA.
You nailed it.
Who has us re-fighting Vietnam?
KERRY, KERRY, KERRY.
That long-faced, traitorous SOB has us mired in Nam.
This is freaking beyond comprehension!!!
Here's a picture of Sean Kilcoyne (in pink) with Country Joe (front row, white hat) and other anti-war creeps at Country Joe's website.
Remember Country Joe and the Fish at Woodstock: "What are we fightin' for? Don't ask me I don't give a damn. Next stop is Vietnam."
