(Fox News) Carl Cameron Confronts Kerry Campaign on Cambodia

Hugh Hewitt just finished playing an entire story from Fox News wherein Carl Cameron confronted the Kerry campaign regarding his Cambodia claims.
Intially, they denied that Kerry had ever said he was in Cambodia. So Carl presented them with the Senate Record and the Boston Globe article where he most unambiguously did so. They said they would have to get back to him on this one, but sticks to their story that he was near Cambodia, but not actually in Cambodia.
THIS STORY HAS LEGS!

Hanoi John French Kerry is on the WRONG Track!

Anybody heard
anything yet from the Kerry camp (other than Brother O'Reilly, of course!)?
Or are they all under the bed, sucking their thumbs, wishing the Big Bad Monster will go away!?

Sorry if this was posted before. Too many posts to look through

You are right but the people were also under the impression, since the cold war was over, these things didn't matter much. We are currently engaged in a war on terrorism and most people (other than the Michael Moore-ons) are aware of that and 1% will make a significant difference.
To: Mo1
I doubt if Kerry's 1986 speech would be on the website, they'll probably have to pull in from the archives.
To: randita
People didn't hold it against Clinton that he wrote that he "loathed the military" or that even though he claimed that, as a youth, he saw black churches burning in AK, none burned
That was probably the only honest statement ever to leave Bubba lips. In a time of war battle buddies remember who helped them and who hurt them, be it in the field or at home. Kerry has hurt in the past and is dredging up old hurts now.

I e-mailed them about it last week but the only response I got back was the typical "we're usually very busy and probably can't get back to you anytime soon" response.

Great idea for a campaign sign:

First .. That incident I copied happened just last year
As for Clinton .. many didn't know about Clinton and the ones that did are the base and Clinton could rape their mother and they would still make excuses for him
As for the Swiftboat Vets and their book .. will they change a lot of peoples opinions??
Maybe .. Maybe not .. but Kerry can't afford to lose any voters

HUGH - IMO the C-SPAN / UNITY thing is also important in the context of Cambodia story because it's another likely instance of Kerry flat out lying to try & impress people or whatever (if he's not lying about meeting with the Security Council - research on prior threads indicate he was in Iowa that week - then he was mucking around with France & Germany et. al. behind our back and would like to know what kinds of assurances were passed either way)

"Keep it up Carl"
I think that Carl has seen alot during this campaign and has become very anti Kerry. Just look at the expressions he makes when he gives his report. GO CARL!!

I would ask him about that...but in my reading, it could be that he denied anybody was in Cambodia over Christmas after his inauguration.
But then, the anecedent seems to clearly be a reference to Nixon.

He wasn't "near" and the "yeah but he was a stupid idiot who never knew where he was" angle fits right into the testimony of the honorable swift vets who claim Kerry was dangerous. Their reason for coming forth is consistent with the same premise as Hugh's book: John Kerry is going to get us killed! - that is why some of the vets wanted him out ASAP even if he was knowingly cheating to do it.
