Monday, Aug. 9, 2004 9:59 a.m. EDT Kerry Edwards Campaign Snubs Cancer Kids

The Kerry Edwards campaign disappointed dozens of children suffering with cancer on Sunday when the candidates' whistlestop train tour failed to stop and greet them while traveling through a ranch where they were vacationing in New Mexico.

"The train tracks run for four miles through the ranch," complained radio host Don Imus, who runs the Imus Ranch for the kids - some of them terminally ill - near Santa Fe, New Mexico.

"We couldn't even get them to even slow down so they could wave." he lamented. The tart-tongued talker, who has supported Kerry for president since early this year, was understandably angered by the snub, telling his audience Monday that Kerry will "never get to be president if this is how he's going to behave."

Reflecting his anger, Imus derided Teresa Heinz Kerry as "Lady MacBeth" and referred to Sen. Edwards several times as "The Breck Girl."

Imus's boy stiffed him on his own ranch. LOL!

LOL, don't snub Imus's sacred ranch. Maybe Cheney will go there now. LOL Imus is such a sycophant.

Well, I can hear the whistle from a mile away.
It sounds so good but I must stay away.
That train is a beauty makin' everybody stare,
But its only destination is the middle of nowhere.

But you know there's victory in the Lord, I say.
Victory in the Lord.
Cling to the Father and his Holy name,
And don't go ridin' on that long black train.

I said cling to the Father and his Holy name,
And don't go ridin' on that long black train.

Yeah, watch out brother for that long black train.
That devil's drivin' that long black train.

But this can't be. Democrats care about children, unlike Republicans who want to cook them in a big black kettle and eat them.

The train doesn't stop because they are not on it. Kerry/Edwards just get off and jet to the next scheduled stop and meet the train before it rolls into town. Kerry and Edwards gave up riding trains long ago. Much like Wendy's food.

The only people on that train are Kerry/Edwards staffers.

No stopping for kids with cancer because they can't vote.

Nobody deserves this snub more than Imus.

Yep! It's standard stuff on those bus tours/train tours. Yes there is a train or bus, but during most of the long legs they are not on it. They are in a Lear or Citation in "Fly-over Country". It's bad enough they have to fly over it, let alone rumble on rails thru it.

Hey, my nephew is going to Imus' Cancer Camp in two weeks. He would have booed them if they stopped.

There is no "Boxcar Kerry". I wonder if some Roger Whitaker lyrics could be reworked to the Kerry Train? Whitaker wrote lot's of really bad train songs.

Wow... they stubbed their toes again. They couldn't take five minutes to see terminally ill kids. The Deadwards campaign doesn't know how to take advantage of a photo op. Imagine - the ticket that can't shoot straight. You know they'll be like this in the White House - a veritable comedy of errors.

When Imus gets a phone call from Kerry telling him the train wouldn't/couldn't stop (wasn't HIS fault), he'll swing back to favoring Kerry. Imus' affections are easily swayed.

Think about it. This is the third "No Stop" article in the past few days. The train can't stop! They are not on it.

Imus is such a Kerry ballwasher and this is the way he gets treated.
Whoever said," Kids with Cancer can't vote." is sooo right.
Why would Kerry want to waste their time tat way.
He would rather go and pnader to Indians. He promise an Indian in every pot and a casino for every Indian.

I was waiting for him to "smokim' peace pipe!"
