I recently was asked this by a young lady who is decidely anti-George W. Bush.
Instead of me answering her I thought I'd give some Republican women that honor. (Maybe if she better understood the G.O.P. she might be more inclined to listen to our side of the story.)
Here are the young lady's words:
I`ve been meaning to ask you, is it common for republican women to vote for who their husband`s tell them to? I`m not asking to be nasty, I really want to know. I`ve met about 8 to 10 women at work who say they only vote for who their husbands tell them to. They say they are republicans and I just don`t get that. How can you say you are part of a political party or support that party when you really aren`t making up your own mind? I`m sure democratic women do the same in some instances but I haven`t met one yet.
Just struck me as weird, these are older women (a lot older than I am) and they`ve raised children, work at jobs, and still can`t make their own decisions at the voting booth?
What a load of crap! I wonder who told her to tell you that?
If this is for real, your friend needs a reality check!!!!
For your consideration
Ha!....that'll be the day when my hubby tells me what/who to vote for....LOL
HMMM no but my husband votes for who I tell him too:0 lol
Of course they can make their own decisions at the voting booth. However, many women aren't particularly interested in following politics closely enough to make a truly informed decision. My wife knows I follow politics far more closely than she does, so she "does" ask me who I plan to vote for. But in no form or fashion do I "tell her who to vote for" in the sense of commanding her to do so. Any decision is her own (after all, it "is" a secret ballot).
All I know is I am a Republican male who does whatever his girlfriend tells him to do. It doesn't involve voting but it covers almost everything else! ;-)
ROTFLMAO!
Sounds like the questioner is such a jerk that the women who work with her have decided to have some fun...
Actually, I thought Republican women told their husbands who to vote for, diplomatically of course!
Once in the booth, only your voting machine knows for sure.
Yes. Yes, they do. They also spend all their time cooking and cleaning and mixing perfect dry martinis for their husbands. Oh, and producing children.
Why yes, I am single. Why do you ask?
But I thought women always voted for the "prettiest" one. (ducking and running)
Not Mrs. Switch!:(
Of course on November 2 we'll vote for the same candidates.
I entered into this marriage fourteen years ago as a Republican as did my hubby. So no, I don't let my hubby tell me who I should or shouldn't vote for. If anything, it's me who is more political in this relationship. We both keep up on the issues, but I'm more passionate about it.
Yes, I believe so. I ordinarily wouldn't entertain views like this from someone so vehemently opposed to Conservatism and/or the G.O.P. but I believe her to be open to at least hearing why her viewpoint(s) are skewed and inaccurate.
I'll not only ditto that, I'll say that in our family, I'm the one who is more politically inclined. My hubby seeks out my opinion, and asks for the latest info (which he knows I have a better shot at of being informed about).
Of course not. The Democrat husbands do.
Yes they do only to be confirmed by court proceeding in a divorce case.
