KERRY'S LOW BLOW: THE MORNING OF 9/11 (Dims whining again)
NY POST ^ | August 8, 2004 | LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Posted on 08/08/2004 1:32:48 AM PDT by Liz

--SNIP--

John Kerry implies that on 9/11 he would have excused himself from reading to schoolchildren............ Would he have consulted with the Secret Service before doing so? I wonder if Kerry remembers a rule from his short time as an officer: Check your perimeter. The Secret Service is the agency responsible for keeping the president safe, especially when you aren't sure if some terrorists are waiting for the president to emerge. They made sure in a matter of minutes that it was safe to move, and then the president did. It's called common sense. Patrick Reilly Flushing

*****

Kerry wants to criticize the president for putting on a brave face while reading to children on 9/11. This from a man who threw away his Purple Hearts after getting some scratches in Vietnam. Please, Mr. Kerry, save us the "what I would have done" speeches. You probably would have gone to the hospital so you could get a medal. Rick Galvin Congers

*****

--SNIP--

Is there any doubt that had the president excused himself from the class immediately, Kerry would now be whining that the president deprived the children of a once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity and maybe even left them with permanent psychological scars? Ron Mergenthaler Middletown

*****

When Bush's National Guard service was questioned by the Democrats, who accused him of being AWOL, it was the liberal media's lead story for weeks. To silence its critics, the administration released more than 300 pages of documents refuting the accusations. Yet now that multiple Navy veterans are accusing John Kerry of fraud and cowardice regarding his medals, the candidate still refuses to release his records. My question is, where is the media now? I seem to remember that Bush was originally told the airplane that hit the WTC was an apparent accident, and that when the second one hit he was told it was clearly a terrorist event and he immediately excused himself. Is Kerry suggesting that every time he hears of some major accident or natural catastrophe he is going to stop everything he is doing at the moment? What a total moron.

The media has an agenda to promote and there is no way on earth they are going to allow the truth to get in it's way.

"I seem to remember that Bush was originally told the airplane that hit the WTC was an apparent accident, and that when the second one hit he was told it was clearly a terrorist event and he immediately excused himself."

I was explaining to my wife that an American bomber had accidentally rammed the Empire State Building during a WW2 flight, so it was probably just an accident again this time at the WTC...when the second plane appeared on our TV and rammed the second tower.

Clearly, I was wrong, but that was my first thought...that it was a repeat of the earlier accident.

Actually, the President waited 6 minutes after being told that America was under attack to leave the classroom. That is what Kerry is whining about.

What on earth he thinks Bush ought to have done in those 6 minutes, to change/affect the outcome of anything, is anybody's guess.

Who can trust Kerry, knowing that he implied, in a 1986 speech on the Senate floor, that President Nixon was responsible for the 16,000 deaths in Vietnam that occurred in Johnson's last year as president, 1968?

A Company Commander has Platoon Leaders, and Squad leaders.

On line the CO has his company spread out and dig in. The Platoon Leaders have thier men situated and dug in.

When Attacked guys know their jobs, the Squad leader knows who he can count on, the Platoon Leaders know the Squad leaders can be counted on, the CO knows the Platoon Leaders know what to do. The CO does not run to every platoon during the fighting.

The Big difference is the Pres. Bush showed LEADERSHIP. He was getting the information, but he had TRUST and FAITH in the people he put in place to DO THEIR JOB.

What Kerry is saying is that he has no faith or trust in the people under him. He would have to "oversee" all decisions. That is not leadership that is INDECISION, that is INCOMPETANCE.

Great point (and, of course, common sense).
I don't know about the first 7.5 minutes but President Bush did more in *8.5* minutes than Kerry did in 40.

Besides that fact that Bush had to wait until his motorcade and Air Force One were ready.

My guess is that Kerry wanted Bush to be standing in the school hallway, wringing his hands.

I have ONE semi-liberal friend. He sent me a long Email about Michael Moore's movie with a note 'WELL?'.

I sent back a short (and pithy) reply...to the effect that THIS President prepared AHEAD OF TIME by appointing experienced, capable people to important positions, knowing they would do the right thing, and knowing he was there for consultation.

No further explanations are necessary, IMO.

Kerry would have been on the phone to the U.N. arranging our surrender to Al-Queda.

Kerry is now taking his campaign rhetoric directly from Michael Moore.

Democrats may be getting sweaty considering that after their own convention, Bush got the bounce.

When will Bush fire back?

If liberals are anything at all, they are supremely short-sighted.

Did they actually think there was nothing going on behind the scenes b/c the President was in a classroom?

Do they actually think US emergency services and the like wait for the president to give an order before acting?

There were many, many people springing into action on the ground as well as executive level personnel who knew their jobs and were doing what was necessary.

Kerry's comments strike me as someone who would act like a dictator given any executive power whatsoever.....that nothing happens unless he gives the order.

Heaven help us.

He is firing back but the message is muffled by the sheer volume of the coordinated campaign between the DNC, the Kerry-Edwards campaign, their surrogates (Moore and Soros) and a complicit media.

WE have to help. It's a cliche to say this election is a great priority, but it's true...if we can retain control of the WH, Senate and House, there will be an opportunity to make systemic changes...such as energy policy and tort reform.

GWB's made some excellent speeches recently, but only those with cable get to hear them. I Email transcripts of those speeches to friends with a request to pass them on.

You are so right. But here's a question. Why aren't these media liars like Jennings, Rather, etc. being treated like the treasonous b*stards that they really are? Why isn't there more rage out there. These people in the mainsream media are America's most destructive enemy, and should be treated the same. They are single-handedly taking away the ability of America to have a true, free and honest Presidential election. They should be tried and hung in the town squares (if found guity of course).

p.s. The other night on MSNBC, the night the ad came out, Mike Barnacle called the Swift Boat Vets' Ad, "Political Pornography". Isn't that swell?

I've been saying this all week, here and in person, and I say it as someone who's been watching Kerry for 20 years here in Massachusetts: He's cracking. The desperation coming off him is palpable.

He got no bounce, his wife is saying annoying things, and after all that malarky about "aren't you sick of the negativity?" from the Ken doll, he's insulting Bush's manhood by saying he was sitting there, scared, which is how Mikey "I'll have an Extra Large with everything" Moore characterized it.

This is all in the week following his "triumphant" sweaty speech.

Meanwhile, Bush rolls along, smiling, happy, confident.

I am revising my time table. Kerry will have a Dean moment before September 1.

I believe the answer to all your questions is 'YES'.

They are true believers in big government...all decisions made by a committee. JFK would expand 'committee' to include Kofi and his pals.

OTOH, you are exactly right that Kerry indicates HE would have been in full control that day. He does sound like a dictator. Teresa's used to giving orders and the two of them should scare any sane person witless.

There's one set of rules for THEM, and another for US.
