John Kerry will lose this election, and he will do so decisively. The defeat will go down as perhaps the only thing this candidate has ever done decisively.
We've just seen a four-day infomercial called the Democratic National Convention, where everyone put on his or her smiley face; Democrats were having a love fest. It was a sea change from their previous campaigning: For starters, they wouldn't even directly criticize the president -- all that vile Bush bashing of the last few months turned into gentle speeches with nary a mention of him. Secondly, the vehemently pacifist and rabidly anti-war party did a 180 degree turn around and created the most militaristic show since Eisenhower landed in Europe.
Kerry, saying he's "reporting for duty," greeted Americans in the most macho, Republican kind of way with a crisp salute. Then Kerry's fellow Vietnam veterans, who, like him, served on the U.S. Navy's "swift boat" patrol craft, swarmed the podium. Finally, Kerry's war-hero service ...

Did Kerry serve in Vietnam?

Three words, NO CAMPAIGN BOUNCE!
Wait till the bills from Boston start coming due.
I think Adam is going to be severely flamed by Bay Area residents.
No, Kerry served his Nam purple hearts over the fence at the White House. Love.
"We discovered we were butchering a lot of innocent people, and morale became so low among the officers on those swift boats that we were called back to Saigon for special instructions from Gen. Abrams," he added. "He told us we were doing the right thing. He said our efforts would help win the war in the long run. That's when I realized I could never remain silent about the realities of the war in Vietnam."
Gee, that's not the story we are getting from the officers. The officers said that Kerry was shooting at the villages and they kept telling him to stop.
The audio of a recent interview is here:
Kerry's Former Commanding Officer Asked Kerry To Leave Vietnam
If this is true, it explains why Kerry returned to the US just to knife is 'band of brothers' in the back.

I think so. I seem to recall that he got three purple hearts or something. He should really talk about Vietnam a little more to clear this up LOL.
Was it three? I can't remember.
Are the planets misaligned or something? This is the second article from a SF publication that I've read today bashing Kerry? I should have bought a lottery ticket today.
Here in Boston everyone knows we were sold a bill of goods, with businesses losing money.
I'm not saying the republicans will gain, but the Mayor may lose his party backing in a putsch.
Kerry served in Vietnam? Good one. Next you'll be telling me he married not one, but two millionairesses. You guys and your jokes!
Wow! I always thought the sfgate was a left-wing mouthpiece. When they print such a cogent analysis as is found in this piece, (and even the NYT prints a truthful, pro-growth economy article) while FOXNews starts to "kerry" sKerry's water for him, you know this is a bizarro world and even more bizarre election.
Bump for later comments.
Mr. Sparks, considering the area where you live, watch your back :-]
Good grief, comrade? If you don't know by now that kerry is a vietnam war "hero" (gag gag gag), you will by the time this election is over and he's crying into edwards' cheek that he once kissed.
END OF SARCASM.
