Former De Anza College student Al Joseph DeGuzman, serving an 80-year sentence for trying to hatch a Columbine-style assault on the Cupertino community college campus, has hanged himself, prison officials said Friday.
DeGuzman, 22, was discovered hanged by a sheet in his Folsom State Prison cell at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, said prison spokesman Lt. Robert Trujillo. An attempt to resuscitate the inmate was unsuccessful. Prison officials sounded an alarm and called an ambulance. Emergency medical personnel pronounced DeGuzman dead at the scene.

May he rot in pieces.
Literally stuck in Folsom Prison till the day he died.
Maybe he did not enjoy his new sex life.
Such a pity - he was so young and full of promise. Too bad this RAT will continue to vote even after death.
I just read the entire article. Basically he didn't actually do anything, just possessed a bunch of explosive stuff and had plans on his computer and a journal, if I read the article correctly.
I really have a problem with the 80 year sentence that the judge was basically forced to give him.
And that's what I think about it.
Maybe the governor could give him a posthumous award.
I hear the train a comin'
It's rollin' 'round the bend,
And I ain't seen the sunshine,
Since, I don't know when
Well, if you can't be well hung, at least you can be well hanged.
There is a family mourning him today in San Jose.
A sad story.
Imagine how the Judge feels after re-sentencing him?
If he had followed through with his plans there would have been many more families mourning.
"Such a pity - he was so young and full of promise. Too bad this RAT will continue to vote even after death."
Sick and demented....Now THAT'S my kind of humor!!!!! LOL
If he didn't have the explosives, he wouldn't have gotten the 80 years. Too bad he didn't look that up first.
Maybe he should have gotten 2 years and then went ahead and blown up a bunch of people. Hopefully none of your family.
Don't take my comments the wrong way. I understand what could have been and thank God it didn't.
Also, we're lucky the photo shop gal saw the photos of bombs and weaponry and did the right thing. He deserved to be imprisoned.
Whether he could have ever been exorcised of his demons is another question that will forever go unanswered.

I think this sums it all up!
"Such a pity - he was so young and full of promise.
He was young but I doubt there was much in the way of promise. As far as I'm concerned it's just one less cretin in the world.

This guy was rather a dim bulb. A couple of years ago he took some pictures of himself together with a pile of bombs and other weapons and had them developed at a drug store in Cupertino. The gal at the photo counter thought the pictures strange and suspicious and called the law.
The police found 30 bombs, a bunch of Molotov cocktails, guns and weapons. The also got a tape recording of him describing his plans and detailed maps of the college campus.
I think they hit him with over 50 felony counts.
No great loss to society.
But... will his family sue the gov't over the suicide?
