Dear Mr. Greenspan, GWB, RNC, and all good guys.....
The economy is doing great, the employment numbers are terrific and yet there were ONLY 32K new Jobs, NOT.
The only way to explain the tax cuts impact on jobs is the household numbers.....
Welcome to the 21st century.....By trying to gauge the new economy by dark age counting methods is nonsense.....
Mr. Greenspan is suppose to be smart.....how else can he explain the terrific state of the economy unless you count the millions of new jobs that have come in direct response to the tax cuts....you can't
The President must lead, he must force the inclusion of the 629K new job seen in the household reports......
New JOB are new jobs.....and the inclusion must be demanded...
If Greenspan wants to truly help the economy, he will join the living and see the new econmy for what it really is, or be pasted by as out of touch
IMHO
Why ALL jobs are not automatically included, is amazing...
This just gives the communists something else to gripe about. It's time to take that away from them.
What exactly are these household jobs that are not being counted? Are they self-employed or what.
I agree...how can new jobs, no matter where they come from not be counted
I heard this addressed yesterday, and they seemed to be indicating that these were farm jobs. Perhaps someone can clarify that further.
evidently there was an old method of counting new jobs for 50 years, and now with the internet, flex time etc, jobs don't get generated the old way, but they are still new jobs, entrapenures, self employed, etc.....
What are the "household numbers"? You may want to clearly spell out what you're talking about so everyone is clear.
The old way of counting was based on large firms creating jobs....and I can tell you....Florida is almost all small businesses and they are everywhere.
farm jobs, self employed, very small businesses.
Did they change the way they tabulated the job creation totals or is this the way they have always counted them?
Thank you.
we are living in a time of the internet and working from home is generating millions of new small businesses
I'm off to walk the puppy....
The establishment survey contacts a number of known employers while the household survey contacts people at random. The problem is that when people start working on their own or starting small companies, these tend to slip through the cracks of the establishment survey. It's pretty easy to give GM a call, but how does the BLS know about Joe's Appliance Repair until he starts filling out tax forms?
This time there was a huge difference between the two surveys. Of course the press and the 'Rats focus on the weaker of the two.
It's a no win situation. If the Labor Dept. changes the job creation accounting procedures to arrive at a higher number of
jobs created, the demos will rightfully claim the dept. is politicising the issue.
that's why Greenspan has to do it.....Only Nixon could go to China, Only Greenspan can bring us into the 21st century...
I have a job.
I went on three job interviews for another job.
Is that even possible based on the numbers they are showing?
Really?
shelter folk picking up cans to buy a drink, squeegemen, unemployed anybodies who would rather call themselves "consultants" than admit they are out of work; the 10 yr old running the lemonade stand in her front yard, the "sub-contractor" cultist selling flowers at the airport.
etc.
That's the problem. the household survey is self styled and self identifying. the payroll survey means someone else has hired you and is withholding taxes on your behalf to pay the govt. It's the gold standard.
