Why ALL jobs are not automatically included, is amazing...
This just gives the communists something else to gripe about. It's time to take that away from them.

What exactly are these household jobs that are not being counted? Are they self-employed or what.

What are the "household numbers"? You may want to clearly spell out what you're talking about so everyone is clear.

I have a job.
I went on three job interviews for another job.
Is that even possible based on the numbers they are showing?
Really?

So you want Greenspan to agree with your dream of 600,000 new jobs (probably 500,000 of non-paid as the continue to search for their first paying client). You do realize that if he does, then that means its very likely he will raise interest rates even further which will slow economic growth and cause the stock market to decline? Duh, but seems like you would rather deal with your pipe dream than with the reality? Face it, the economy did slow slightly in the lastest quarter and its coming at a poor time for the President. You really think anyone other than those of us who are already going to vote for Bush are goign to buy a change in the way of counting job production at this point in the campaign? If you do, I have some real estate I would like to show you...it connects Manhattan and Brooklyn NY.

Its better to point all the other good news... 1.6 million new jobs this year, falling unemployment rate, falling new applications for unemployment compenstation, 10,000 new factory jobs this month, more growth in factory jobs in the last year than at any time in the past 20 years, stable prices other than gasoline, continuing above average GDP growth and increasing consumer confidence. Why not talk up the undisputable rather than bring up something that is going to immediately going to be disputed and reported as non credible.

MAN OPENS FRUIT BUSINESS

WASHINGTON, D.C. December 31, 1930. The Hoover Administration reported today that unemployment rolls are down because many have started own business and should be counted as employed.

how about a new index?

Call it the "Total Job Creation Index"?

Total being the key word.

Reagan used the Misery index, there is no reason the USS Bush can't use such a illustrative index.

I wish that were the case but the Market knows what it's doing and judging by Friday's performance (and the last few weeks) it is clear things are slowing down.
