Although some of the people involved in the early Clinton scandals were helpful in getting him impeached, some of them are unreliable (Larry Patterson, Larry Nichols, etc.) - or just plain liars (Terry Reed, etc.)
The Clintons are *notorious* for making up false charges against themselves. For instance, about Bubba's "rage" during his videotaped deposition.
Then when the truth comes out, everyone who jumped onto the lie gets smeared as a mudslinger and as a liar or as someone who was gullible-enough to believe a lie.
Not only does this tactic generate sympathy for the Clinton's, but it also makes it more difficult for people to believe any *real* charges against them.
So the Clinton's repeat this trick again and again.
During impeachment, there were *numerous* shill posters here on FR trying to start *obviously* false rumors such as that the Clinton's practiced voodoo, sacrificed children, etc.
So always keep in mind that there are valid reasons to spread false rumors about yourself...if you are guilty of other things.
No doubt many, many more people will fall for this tactic in the future, too.
