And for Florida it is Frogs, I think on Hwy 27 in the middle of nowhere.

Between Chiefland and Bronson on U.S. Alt 27? We take that route to Ocala sometimes. I always laugh going through Chiefland at the Ralph's Hamburgers signs.

My votes are for two here in the mountains of East Tennessee, both which have a serious reputation from NASCAR racers when they are in town to fight at Bristol.

Ridgewood is all sliced/pulled beef and pork, located up in woods on an old highway. The wait on a normal night is between 30 to 60 minutes. Recommend the pulled pork with extra sauce, a side of beans and bottomless sweet tea. DO NOT plan on strenuous activity after this meal!...(about 15 minutes from BMS)

Ridgewood Barbeque
900 Elizabethton Hwy.
Bristol, TN 37618

Dixie Barbeque is a full service deal with beef, pork, and chicken. My inlaws had an ol' boy from Sweden over; he never had anything like it before. Recommend the full rack of ribs with a side of beans and hot fries. Also, the place offers 7 sauces ranging from a mild white to hellfire. About 35 minutes from the speedway.

Dixie Barbeque
3301 N. Road St.
Johnson City, TN 37601

"This is only a few miles from my house". One of the beauty parts of Free Republic. Someone usually has first hand knowlege of everything. BTW, its only about 80 miles from my family home place right down 190 east to Tyler Co.

Bunkhouse BBQ, Clifton, TX - The owner serves it up himself, and he's a real character. I think his name's Ricky. Good guy, too. Gave us deer hunters a whole platter of "day old" ribs right before he closed up last time. Brisket is amazing, and his smoked turkey breast makes your mouth water. Melts about a quarter stick of butter on each bun he toasts for the chopped beef sandwiches. I think I hunt out there just so I can stop there to eat on the way.

I like J. Cody's in Bryan, too for brisket, sausage & steaks at a great price. Jalepeno cornbread is a must-try.

Uh, my house when I come home with a rack of baby backs, my own homemade BBQ sauce, a case of Guinness, and 3 or 4 Arturo Fuentes.

Of course, this pathetic, silly little fantasy falls apart when I wake up and realize Bo Derek isn't laying in the hammock with me, gently caressing my neck and brushing her lips against mine.

Yeah, I love Maurice's Piggy Park.

There used to be a place out on the east end of town ... 3 Lil Pigs maybe. I remember going in there one hot Columbia day and sitting down to eat. Suddenly, the bottom dropped out of the sky in a surprise downpour. It was raining buckets out there. Folks were dashing to roll up their windows. The guy had a switch he could flip that would make water run off the roof. It looked just like a rainstorm from inside.

Longhorn Cattle Company Barbeque & Steak Restaurant (or as my kids say "the Redneck place". San Benito Texas

I'll second that! I love their ribs and their beans.

the Travel Channel voted Corky's and Rendezvous the best BBQ in the US. Memphis, in general, was the #1 city for BBQ ribs.

I was directed to the New Zion Church when I was working on a construction project in Huntsville back in the 80's. I intend to get back one of these days, based on the reviews and my own experience.

Yes, Rudy's is the best. Eating on freezer paper and very reasonable. Lots of nice hot jalapenos - all you want.
