In honor of places that we know we could eat without being interupted by Kerry... Please post your favorite BBQ joint, where it is and what your favorite thing is at that place...
Actually, Freeagle, you don't have to be satisfied with Carsons in Chicago! Try the Twin Anchors on the near north side or Robinson's on the south side. When Mike Royko had a barbeque cookoff in Grant Park (obviously a number of years ago), Mr. Robinson won. He's been putting out great barbeque ever since!

Old age is hitting you hard.
My youthful brain has kept track of this. The count is now 368 beers.
Trust me on this.
No plates, just heavy craft paper. The real deal.
I've found the best BBQ in non-descript places like the one you've mentioned in Sugar Land. I looked up the location of County Line, and I'd have to pack a lunch to eat on the way, and fill up the gas tank twice.
Thanks for the correction. While I didn't know the price, I knew I could get a lot more than that for the money. The place is not real "high class!" ;-)
I was very disappointed when they closed our Red Hot and Blue. It is the best BBQ in the world (when I am at the Red Hot and Blue) :)
My back deck. I just took a pork shoulder off the smoker, chopped it, added homemade bbq sauce and am enjoying it as I type.
(This is the 2nd food thread i've been eating the subject of as I read this week)
HEY
In Texas, the pieces, ends, and scraps left over from the sliced BBQ are saved for the children and served with BBQ sauce; often on a bun for the ones not old enough to use silverware. Is that how y'all do it for the adults?
The best? The Smokehouse in Millbrook, Alabama. Best pulled pork I've ever had.
Damn straight. Make a beeline there after every Longhorn football game.
And Houston...
gotta go with Pizzitola's,
Shepherd bet. Memorial and I-10 (just south of 10).
Bring a baseball bat to fight for a seat...a religious experience!
Don't mess with the BBQ threads.
BBQ ping is in order.
ROFLMAO - The state that gave us John Edwards thinks they know BBQ!
I had mine last night, and for lunch...and probably for lunch tomorrow. My BBQ is the best in the World (when I am at home) :)
Food Fight!
I'll go with your count. I had forgotten and had used my Random Beer Counter to generate a number.
also if it is west of I95 in NC, you have no reason to respond.
While not the best I've ever had, it ranks up there: Peggy Sues in Snyder Plaza (near SMU) in Dallas.
The best brisket I've ever had was this hole in the wall place in Grand Prarie, Texas, that I don't think is around anymore. The brisket was sliced but there was no need to cut it either with a fork or knife. You just put your fork into whatever sized bite and pick it up.
As far as ribs go, I've probably smoked some of the better ribs I've eaten, and I'd have to think about anywhere else. I'm not really into pulled pork or pork butt, but Texas does have a Memphis style chain that's pretty decent called Red, Hot and Blue. However, the best places in Texas to get BBQ are roadside shacks and holes in the wall in town.
