Fox News has just reported the Boston Globe/Swift Boat Veteran "retraction" of his damninmg words about Kerry as fact, and omitted that the man quoted has since called the Globe a liar and reaffirmed his statement.
Is Fox screwed-up or has this story changed again??
A Boston radio host said that the Globe allowed two reporters to do the same thing during the Michael Dukakis run.
Nice to see the NYT ownership only allows one conflict of interest at a time, now.
I don't expect FOX to report only the good stuff for our side, but I do expect them to be up on the news, even though the dissemination point was Drudge.
These things can be easily or sometimes with little effort, verified.
I note that Drudge was caught in a error on that story regarding the writer of the Globe piece. Something about his not authoring a book that drudge said he had, due to a screwed up Amazon page. Not a biggy. I could care less what other crap the author wrote, because his globe story was flat out wrong.
FOX's journalism has been much more even handed. They have few misleading titles and do separate analysis from hard news and I respect honesty in journalism.
CNN's Judy Woodruff also made efforts to balance her story on the swifties. She did not use leading questions and let the quests talk. I was pleasantly surprised.
However, all the other stories, except for Hannity have been hit pieces on the Bush admin. They are shameless bastages.
Anyway, that is my take on the news of the last two days.
What is the "error on that story regarding the writer of the Globe piece"?
the only reason FOX appears slanted to the right, is because they are not slanted to the left as are the others.
If they fold under this so called pressure, they will receiver my ire as do the others.LOL!
What a joke!
Actually, the joke is on us if libs gain complete control of the media through congressional intimidation.
I guarantee that there will be a revolution if that happens and a truth test will become mandatory! I want to be the one to dole out the punishment for failing.
I'm beginning to think we've been sandbagged by FNC. The true test will be after 9/2, when the McCain suspension of the First Amendment begins. If FNC continues to move left after that, "Fair and Balanced" is effectively gone forever. The "savage attack" may just be a smokescreen to distract us from FNC's move to the left.
So you are saying reporting the truth is akin to being in Bush's pocket? I know all liberals feel that way, but do you also?
I think your post exhibits a lack of understanding of how media bias works.
I'll see if I can find the thread.
Yeah, didn't another FReeper report another day that Murdoch has endorsed SKerry?

Folks, while it may be true that FOX initially looked like a conservative news outlet, it just ain't the case.
They adhere much more strictly to journalism ethics and allow the conservative view on issues that the other only pay minor lip service to.
It would be unethical, in my opinion, to shade the news in any direction without first stating the fact up front. Like a comedy show.
The others get by with it on the liberal side every day.
Some even call it news parody, but fail to use the term.
FOX is much more honest, and let you know it is analysis.
As far as sandbagging is concerned, they have not done it unless a guest takes over the show and does it without permission. It happens.
MSNBC and CNN often mix analysis with news and use misleading titles and questions(as statements).
They are rabid with this stuff everyday.
I think it was the COO of the "Fox Group" or something like that. Its the part of News Corp that runs Fox News and such. Murdoch as far as I know hasn't endorsed anyone.
I don't think you can ask people to check their political leanings at the door to go to work.
A reporter, on the other hand, needs to be very careful. IMO.
Beat me!
I never thought they were conservative, but lately I've occasionally sensed that they were leaning to the left a little. Maybe it's just the many summer vacation substitutions; or maybe they just are trying to help keep Kerry in the race for comercial reasons. Either way, I wish they would go back to "we report, you decide".
FOX screwed up by allowing Susan Estregen to do politics however.
She is a shrill baiter.
When and where did Rupe endorse Skerry?

Good reply from Jim Angle. When will he be on again, do you know? I would like to see if he does "change his tune" on this. Brit too.
