Strategery. President Bush says that knowing, no one will do it. In the meantime, no one can say (msm) he backs the swift boats ad but the ad stays in the limelight. Win, win for the president.
Exactly. He personally places himself above the fray and lets others do the nasty infighting.
Exactly. This is simple STRATEGERY.
No way sKerry will agree to this.
.
If so, bad strategy. It was often said on this forum that Bush signing the Campaign Finance Reform bill was just strategy, that he knew the Supreme Court would rule it unconstitutional. Trying to have your cake and eat it too is not wise.
But, nonetheless, I hope it is strategy. Otherwise Bush really believes in squashing political free speech.
If Bush really believes that this is a good idea, why would I want to vote for him? If the swift boat veterans commercial was the result of an end-run around campaign finance law, then the law is unconstitutional and unjust to begin with. If it isn't, then why not address the real issue to start with? This posturing isn't clever, it's just another example of Republicans being the "stupid party".
