I feel sorry for the citizens of Illinois that they need rescued. If the GOP is such disarray in Illinois that they need to draft Alan Keyes (with all due respect) they are in BIG TIME trouble. There should be no reason the party cant find a good candidate in state. Obviously they are afraid of Osmama. And speaking as a former resident of the great state of Illinois, I feel sorry for them.
I like Keyes, he is a fighter & gamer, but he is the sacrificial lamb in this race.
Good luck Alan.
You might be correct that Illionois is too far gone. In fact, our country may be too far gone. And I don't like the circumstances by which Keyes is coming into this thing. But I'm behind him a %1000.
Keyes's political viability will end here, and that's a shame. but more than that, is the severe blow that his defeat will deliver to the conservative message.
After this, it will become political fact that a candidate running on a strong pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, pro-Constitution platform will be unelectable, the example being the resounding defeat of a pro-life, pro-second Amendment, pro-Constitution Conservative icon at the hands of a relative newcomer to politics.
Not only that, but I can almost guarantee you that the loss will be blamed on Bush and the RNC, and that the blame game will be in full swing in October/November.
