HUMAN EVENTS has obtained a copy of a letter (see below) which lawyers for the Democratic National Committee and John Kerry have sent to television station managers attempting to suppress the blistering anti-Kerry TV spot created by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

John Kerry just can't stand it when someone comes out with the truth about him.

Unfortunately this is already working. Our local ABC affiliate announced this morning it would not be airring the vets ads because of the fax they received from the DNC. This station has no problems running the lies from the Media Fund and Moveon.org.
The station is WDTN channel 2 in Dayton OH.
The CBS affiliate is running a doom and gloom spin on the new unemployment figures.

"Seeing as how John Kerry went to the Vietnam Memorial (the Wall)...great 'war hero' that he is...in light of past testimony about how Kerry's testimony encouraged the P.O.W.'s captors...

One of the SwiftVets, the C.O., a guy named Elliott, has already said he incorrectly signed an affidavit about Kerry's medals.

IOW, the SwiftVets have already started to compromise themselves.

This retraction will also give the Media all the excuse they need to simply ignore this ad.

Giving the media a fig leaf for refusing to run the ads is exactly why the letters were sent. The DNC has no legal recourse against the stations and there is an obligation to run ads from a legitimate 527 organization. If they were to sue the Swift Boat Vets there would be a nasty discovery process.

Not to mention all the free publicity that they gave Michael Moore for his "shlockumentary." I'm in California so they won't run any ads here, sadly - it's already foregone that the state will go for Kerry anyway. Although, that recall of Davis should give the Dems some food for thought.

Did anyone see that harpy Susan Estrich going after O'Dell (I think that was his name) on Hannity last night? Called their ad "despicable" or something. This from the woman who, I believe said that Fake-enhiet 9/11 was an important movie.

This nut case, Susan Estrich, need to revisit her brain, so more control over her mouth could take effect. She knows nothing how Swift Boats patrol. They patrol in a group, not alone. Very rare they get separated.
