WHAT KERRY DID [KJL]
Listen, he wasn't president on Sept. 11, and I am not questioning his reflexes or reactions, but it is worth noting what Kerry did do on Sept. 11, 2001. Here's what he told Larry King: "...And as I came in [to a meeting in Sen. Daschle's office], Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building. And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon..."
Kudos to Red State for finding that. And for noting: "It should be noted that the second plane hit the World Trade Center at 9:03 a.m., and the plane hit the Pentagon at 9:43 a.m. By Kerry's own words, he and his fellow senators sat there for forty minutes, realizing 'nobody could think.'"
I was going to say he was jogging around Lower Manhattan with Chelsea. But I think you are closer to the truth!
"off the cuff?"
No way. See Post #17 on this thread for a partial transcript of Kerry's interview on Larry King Live.
Ever since the convention, he's tried to reinvent himself. Hopefully it's far too late. Yet all the pundits are saying that everyone already has made up his/her mind.
Lookie here!!!
Thanks for the ping -- this is a great find! Kerry is such a lowlife and arrogant to think someone wouldn't find all this stuff.
That wasn't part of the King interview. It was a statement he made at a rally to minorities--Minnesota somewhere? Help me out freepers. :)
And just today MSNBC showed the video of that morning. Not the close up of George Bush, but a long shot, showing Bush on the left of the screen, and the teacher on the right, holding the book open, reading to the children who are visible sitting on the floor.
"Kudos to Red State for finding that. And for noting: "It should be noted that the second plane hit the World Trade Center at 9:03 a.m., and the plane hit the Pentagon at 9:43 a.m. By Kerry's own words, he and his fellow senators sat there for forty minutes, realizing 'nobody could think.'"
This is a truly great find. One smack by someone on the Bush team with this bludgeon outta do it for that "7-min" story.
In the interview with king he knew immediately what was going on and he was very, very angry but at the time he couldn't think while he sat around in an office for an hour. What a poser.
That would be an excellent clip if it could be found. John Kerry runs looking up at the sky... Chicken Little...
Alright folks, here's your assignment.
Copy and paste the important part of the transcript and send it to everyone on your e-mail list. Let's get this little gem around the world tonight
This day has had a profound effect on so many of us.
You hit it on the head here...Kerry seems to be so full of himself!!
Thank GOD it WAS G.W sitting in that classroom down in Florida that day....can you imagine what would be said if the President had sat there for 45 minutes "knowing" what/who/when/how as Kerry seems to be saying of himself.
And tell us this oh purveyer of all....if you knew so f'n much why the **** didn't you do anything especially since it's come out that you buried info about the security at that airport in the months leading up to 9/11....
Politicizing P.O.S.!!!!!!!! This man cannot be trusted as C-I-C!!!!!!
"right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion"
The Pentagon is not RIGHT BEHIND the Capital building either.
It is in the area of the Capital I think(?), but the way he makes it sound as if it was right across the street from where he was sitting.
Kerry always has to make himself look like he is in the thick of everything, always in harms way, what a tough guy......a-hole.
The TWO FACED KERRY sat and did NOTHING for 40 minutes.
I'm surprised he didn't run down to the Pentagon, find a small thin piece of rubble, and insert it into his arm. Why not get a fourth Purple Heart out of the event?
Here it is.
Kerry thinks an appropriate response would have been to act like the Richard Dreyfuss character in " Down and Out In Beverly Hills,"
running through the halls and screaming-
"Call 911! Call 911! Call 911!"
