The Media is the Real Enemy - Watch Media Reaction to the Swift Boat Vets Story and be Convinced!

The Media is the Real Enemy

This has been one of my mantras since I arrived at FR in '97 ('96?). Holding rallies, working to get candidates elected, etc., is of immediate importance, but until we solve the media prejudice issue, we will always be pushing that boulder up the hill only to have it roll back down on us the moment our attention is diverted.

Liberal Media Hegemony is the Engine That Drives Their Movement

Liberals have to rely on propaganda and intimidation, in the media, in education, in unions, etc., to maintain control. They know it is the mothers milk of their effectiveness. Conservatives, if we are ever to achieve a lasting ascendancy and eliminate liberalism as a significant cultural influence, must understand that a long term plan on confronting and overcoming this challenge must be put in place or we will always just come up short of our goals.

Yes, we hold majorities in Congress and Governorships, the White House and the Supreme Court, what has that gotten us? The fact is there are still too many rinos willing to play politics and squelch the conservative agenda. Rinos are a direct result of the media holding too much power, particularly in close districts.

Do you think Clinton would have been re-elected, Hillary still sitting in the Senate, Gore almost winning in '00 and sKerry this close in '04 if it wasn't for the lapdog media who decides not only what information is disseminated, but as important, what isn't and how and where it is presented?

Imagine you are on a sports team and go to play an away game, only to lose by a large margin. You find out the next day the refs were paid off. Do you go back and play the same team next week, on the same turf with the same refs? That's what we do as conservatives every day of our lives. We when and bitch about it, but what are we actually doing to change it?

People say we have Fox News. Fox News does very well and beats the other cable stations, but when you add up the numbers for the others all together, they beat Fox. And, they still got Rather, Brokaw and Jennings. They still have the NY/LA Times and magazines. They still got our universities, our unions, our entertainment industry (an information dissemination industry all it's own). Yes, we got the internet, but it pales to the competitions advantage.

I'm not going to present a plan, I have my own ideas and am working on some of them. I'd like to hear what the FReepers have to say and what ideas you have, and, how far you are willing to go.

There is a lot (I think) we can do as individuals but only effective acting as a group!

That's what I meant, Bob. One by one we can't do much. But there is real power in like-minded people pooling their resources and acting together.

If the libs taught is anything in the last 60 years it's that control through usurpation and intimidation is the least costly and quickest path to advantage.

Very, very true.

On Air America radio today, they are describing this as a Republican ad.

One of the Swift Boat Vets, Chenoweth?, was on Mark Levin's show tonight. He sounded credible to me.

He said the only enemy activity was the mine that detonated. There was no enemy fire. Rassman fell into the water when Kerry's boat was leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

I would like people to start thinking about what we can do, not commiserating about what looks insurmountable...

Bravo! However, most people look to others to lead the way. Even if people start thinking about what we can do, just thinking won't lead anywhere. Most people won't act without someone to lead and organize the effort.

I've been criticized in the past for taking this tack.

I'm glad you don't let criticism stop you.

I agree with you! The media also helped build Ross Perot's campaign in 92 and 96, giving Clinton a win by splitting the rest of our votes!

The media is always handing us doses of Hillary Clinton, saying "Isn't she pretty?" "Isn't she witty?" "Isn't she lovely?" "Isn't she smart and clever?"

Gads.

The media is the problem.

And it gets worse all the time.

I think the Clinton's put a lot of effort into putting their like-minded clones in top-positions in all the major news agencies, AP wires etc.

That was one of their "circle of power" strategies.

I don't listen to the media. Were they as hysterical about farhenheit 9/11?

GREAT point!

Notice the journalists aren't asking who funded that piece of PR! And Farheheit 9/11 is based on mostly pure lies!

Kerry's people and the DNC should be on the carpet for sending that Propaganda Rag to theaters all around the country!

I think conservatives have not only gotten used to but expect and to a degree acquiesce to liberal domination of the media. We got to kick ourselves out of that cocoon!

WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE IN MOST ELECTIONS IS TURNOUT

The left has noted that and is going after new voters using movie stars, t-shirts etc.

Will these new recruits go to the polls in November?

They might, if they get scared enough by a terrorist attack sometime between now and then.

I read somewhere that people who are afraid tend to support communism and giving up freedom, thinking they can appease the enemy.

Our young and naive Americans are being bred to be afraid of defending the homeland, afraid of losing their comfort zone and they wrap it in hatred of the USA, because if the USA wasn't so darn determined to stand up to evil, gosh darn it, the brainwashed youth wouldn't have to be put in this position!!

I have this theory that there is a class of people who consider themselves above so called partisanship and essentially are political predators. They make money off whatever party is in power and I think they consider it part of their job to foment trouble and anxiety in order to create demand for their so called intellectual and analytical skills. I think O'Reilly, Morris, David Gergen, the Buchanans, and yes even Mary Matalin qualify with probably dozens of others.
They show no true allegiance to either party and seem to be in it only to sell advertising from sponsors as they go from one talking head show to another

When we hear lies all the time, the outrage drains our energy. What are we supposed to do? Kick the TV??

I think the constant assault on our brain causes apathy and people turn off. Then the voter turnout goes down, helping the left win more power by default!

But we can see what Truth does! Here at FR, we have doses
of truth, and the result is energizing!

People need Truth.
