WHAT HAPPENED TO AIR AMERICA?
Me | Not | Publius6961

Posted on 08/05/2004 7:55:28 AM PDT by Publius6961

The Air America station on 1240 AM in the Sacramento, CA area seems to have gone AWOL this morning. I listen to it every morning and evening for comic relief.

Does anyone have any information as to the possible cause? I sort of miss the mindless comedy...

"AH-NULD MUST BE BEHIND THIS!!" :)

I am sure when the story comes out it will be a good one!

It was freaky this morning. I hopped in my car, braced myself, and heard the faint signal of a Christian prayer...
Oh the irony!

by the way if you try airamerica.com you get:

>>Welcome to the Paintball Division of Air America, Inc.
The World's Finest Paintball Air Systems

They missed out on getting that domain name. Wonder if they'll try to buy it off them? Nope, AAR is at airamericaradio.com where it says: NOW on 15 STATIONS
(and Rush has...400? 1000? :) )

And oddly enough, Rush doesn't have to *pay* those stations to carry him. In fact, companies pay Rush to let them advertise during his program. Imagine that!

I just tried their 'find a station' link listed under the boast '15 stations nationwide'.

The link is nonfunctional.

Tuned into the web stream and--this is the honest truth!--the first thing heard playing was an Immodium commercial to combat diarrhea.

Too funny!

You'll get over it.

One of the best features of XM Satellite Radio is the ability to remove stations from your dial.

Don't think I would want to do that, I have poked a few dead things in the past, and the results have been extremely unpleasant.

Of course with Jenny G poking it at anytime would be extremely unpleasant.

I just quizzed my co-workers and one mentioned an article on line a couple of days ago about Al Franken and the imminent demise of Air America...

I still haven't found an explanation, and they are still off the air.

With only 15 stations, they don't even need a database
to list them--put 'em on index page or a separate one.

As it is, they're grasping at straws; WSNH AM 900 in
Nashua NH was supposedly THINKING of signing up so their page proudly said: Coming soon: WSNH 900 Nashua, NH
And they never did! But there it was.

Heah, you can listen to Tom Sullivan on KFBK 1530 in Sac, where Rush got his start.
