The boats only had a crew of 6 plus the CO. Kerry served on two different boats and there is always some crew turnover as well. So you'd be talking about 14-15, maybe a few more, crewmates (who would have been his subordinates) Most, but not all, of the SwiftVetsForTruth were not Kerry's crewmen, but rather mostly his fellow boat commanders. The boats operated in groups, not solo. So the other guys were there as well, maybe a few tens of yards away at most, often closer than that. One of the SwiftVet guys, Gardner, indicates was a gunner on Kerry's boat.
If I really have to explain that the point of this story is not just the atrocities...then it's not worth my time.
Their gurlyMan squeals reveal that The Truth only looks like a dirty trick to the Kerry campaign because ...
... the truth spoils their alternate perception of reality.

I suspect our fallen brothers, whose names are inscribed on the Wall at the Mall ---- would really love to have this collection of their brothers conduct the anti-Kerry protest in their presence...AT THE MEMORIAL.
THEY more than those of us that survived - were the most horribly slandered and dishonored by Kerry.
I've seen various politicians make their speaches at the Memorial -- they should permit vets to do the same...
Does anyone know the law on this matter??

"But I think the Bush campaign should specifically condemn the ad."
What was the reaction of the Gore campaign, if anyone recalls, the the Byrd add put out by the NAACP, which was junk, BTW, which this ad is not. The vets are telling people what they know of the man who would be president. They are very angry, very worried, and have a right to speak their mind.
"Getting a medal for it, though, would be an issue for me."
Yes, this is the part of the thing that bothers me. I could see myself doing something like this in anger in a firefight with people all around shooting, my friends hurt or killed. I very much doubt I would ever talk about it, much less ask to be put in for a medal for it.
Ahhhh, but do you remember who first brought this up? It wasn't Kerry, it was Hitlery's sock-puppet Terry McAwful, with the "Chest Full Of Medals" quote. And Kerry did his darndest to avoid the issue, but McAwful kept spewing about Kerry's 'heroism' so he was forced to pretty much make it 'his' issue.
I swear it was done on Hitlery's orders, knowing full well that Kerry's 'heroism' and military record was all 'smoke and mirrors' and that eventually the issue would sink him. (no navy pun intended)
Yep, no doubt about it, this has The Beasts cloven hoof prints allllll over it. No way she's waiting 12 years to run for POTUS -- no way. She has to destroy him now.
I will pass on your comments to Larry Bailey.
I know that many of us will be spending time at the Wall I haven't been there for a year, and it is time to go back.
We owe so much to the men and women memorialized there, and it takes so little time to visit, look at the letters and flowers left by loved ones, and spend some time praying for the sons, daughters, wives and Moms and Dad's of those of us that weren't as fortunate as we were.

I disagree. Bush has publically disavowed any affiliation with these vets. And he must continue to do so, even thank Mr. Kerry for his support as a fellow member of the Vietnam-era armed forces. Hopefully the vets' financing is buried or at least laundered -- i.e., not too close to the President's closest supporters or advisors.
This is an example of how we can beat the liberal media at their own game -- even go one up. We use these vets, Hannity, Limbaugh, etc. to issue the attacks. The President runs a positive campaign. Whenever Kerry goes negative, the President can then excoriate him for failing to take the "high road" of positivity like the President.
I think its all brilliant.
The Kerry campaign is planning to vigorously counter the charges and will accuse the veteran's groups of being well-financed by a top Bush donor from Texas.
They don't deny the charges.
One reason McCain may have come out with this statement is because he heard that Imus was really speaking ill of him for backing Bush to the effect that Imus implied that he may have to rethink his support of McCain. Perhaps McCain was afraid that the I-Man would no longer kiss his ass and promote his latest book.
He's a total fraud.........a false "war hero". No shock here, boys and girls.
Kerry is beneath contempt and is in NO way qualified to lead the military........let alone the greatest nation on the face of the earth. He needs to go back to hunting rich widows, the little prick.
"a book the Kerry camapign believes is the"the dirtiest of all dirty tricks ever played on a candidate for the presidency.""
As if Farenheit 911 wasn't a dirty rotten trick (lie).
But then of course the Dems think its the truth.
The book also claims to detail how Kerry personally ordered the slaughter of small animals at a small hamlet along the Song Bo De River. ---but then he gave all the small animals mouth to mouth and saved them.

Many of you seem to be asking why the enlisted crewmen of Kerry's boat would support him.
Here's a fact that many don't know. On the day Kerry received the Silver Star. He put his crew in for medals also. 2 Bronze Stars w/combat V and 3 Navy Commendation medals w/combat V were awarded based on Kerry's lies in addition to his Silver Star.
People, this was group medalgate! This was the most highly decorated boat in the history of the war for 1 action. It was a minor fire fight against about 20 local VC by 3 boats (18 crewmen) and about 70 South Vietnamese troops on the boats.
And yes, I'm a member of swiftvets and a decorated riverine sailor. We are not "shills" for Republican Pary. We are not Pro Bush. We're simply Anti-Kerry for the reasons stated at www.swiftvets.com
Oh, wait, that is their whole campaign.
Yeah. That's because Kerry was ABSENT a lot in the Senate, and didn't do too much when he was there over 19 years. Except help clinton and Biden screw the Serbs, of course.
What a DISGRACE he is!!!!
I agree with you. Distancing themselves from it would be better than ignoring it. I just don't want them to appear as if they are piling on.
If they are this scared, they have something to fear
