He has no chance of winning. He blasted Hitlary's run in NY, saying "how can she claim to represent them when she doesn't live there." Well, Keys lives in MD, so you figure what the first attack will be. I hope and pray he will win, but if he comes within 15 points I'll be shocked.

Would they be calling him a "carpetbagger" now? GGGreat!
Controversy gets one's name out there and Mr. Keyes is more than capable of defending his action. He was right then and he's right to do this now.

This a great news, Alan Keyes will destroy Obama in the debates Unfortunatley, Obama will destroy Keyes on election day.
I am a big supporter of Keyes, have several photographs with him on different occasions I have met him and when he has come and spoken to groups I am a member of. I wish him the best, but victory is for him is about as likely for Nader.

So what are his chances of winning? Not good. Keyes will come off as strident and dogmatic, as he always does, and Obama will be smooth as silk and calm.
Keyes will inevitably insult the voters a few times, and the race will be over.

Alan Keyes, IMHO, is one of the greatest debaters.
However, that tape they have of him dissing Hillary for running in NY could sure put a damper on the whole race.

Look... you want him to turn it down for the sake of high minded principles and give Barack Obama the seat by default? I'd be the first to say carpet-baggers shouldn't run but what's goose for Hillary is gander for Alan. I'd like to see a Senate campaign based on the issues. We have a chance to keep Peter Fitzgerald's seat in GOP hands and I admit it doesn't look good. But if Alan doesn't run, the odds change to NONE. I'll take slim any day, thank you.

I think the difference is that Hillary invited herself. While Keyes was asked to come, if the Illinois GOP felt that he better represent them than any other available candidate they can call upon, then that's good enough for me.

That's great news, Tame.
But just you watch- a bunch of Keyes-hating posters will now crawl out of their holes, and attempt to demoralize Team Freeper positivity. They've been doing it for years.

There could be no clearer contrast between the kinds of judges these two would put on the bench.
Obama is as Constitution hating as they come.
Good luck to Keyes and to the people of Illinois.
