Remember its not donations so much as tribute. As in: "Here's your money, please, please leave us alone." Imagine how history might have played out had Bill Gates not originally been such a political naif. Had he sent lobbyists to Washington in the early nineties bearing fat checkbooks the easily-bought Bill Clinton would have built him his own wing of the White House and carved his face on Mt. Rushmore rather than made him the object of a long, bloody anti-trust suit.
Internet types like Marc Andressen got rich fast and now must feel guilt as to how easy it was.
I remember a book being published in '85 by some pop psychologist positing that people who achieve insane success early in life (The Imposter Phenomenon) feel guilty about it. Furthermore, I have also read that a great many of the Tech enterpreneurs came from hippie/red diaper parentage.
Levis are all made overseas now anyways so buy used to get the good ones.
wow...the COO of Yahoo (yahell) supports Kerry. Gosh...I could never tell from their news headlines that they supported Kerry. I am stunned. </sarcasm>
"Smith, a native of Marks, Miss., just south of Memphis, earned a business degree at Yale, where he was a year between Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee, and President Bush. He calls Kerry "one of my best friends in the world," but he's openly backing Bush in the election. "His politics are closer to mine," Smith explains."
