So will the Libertarian ticket be Williams-Carter or Carter-Williams?

That would make my day.....granted I've had the over-paid, prima donna on my fantasy team forever it seems, but Terrell Owens found with a coke spoon up his nose, might just wipe that smart-a$$ grin off his face.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention - I'm suspicious of the timing of this.

Ah, if it's confirmed that he failed a test and was going to have a four game suspension, that means it was his third failed test.

First one gets you more frequent random tests and counseling.
Second one gets you more frequent random tests, counseling, and a fine equalling your pay for four games.
Third one gets you more frequent random tests, counseling, and a four game suspension (without pay)
Four one get you suspended indefinitely (but probably for only a year)

btw, I would resign myself to last place in the fantasy league every year before I would have T.O on my team.

Actually, I do !

My dad was a HUGE Dandy Don fan, and we watched MNF every week when he wasn't working evening shift...

Myself? I'm a big Chargers fan (Dan Fouts, Kellen Winslow, JJ, Bambi, heck, even Chuck Muncie!)

Now, I'm a Chargers & Texans fan (season ticket holder) - since I'm a native Houstonian...

I also think people are reading way too much in Parcells saying Quincy was the starter for now.

Camp barely started. Most coaches wouldn't announce the starter had lost his spot this early unless there had been a great free agent signing or trade.

Parcells was never very fond of Carter, so, why would he keep him if he was out 4 games to boot.

Troy Aikman on Carter's Release

"I think this move with Quincy Carter certainly comes as a surprise to everybody. Obviously, there's got to be something there. I don't think this is a situation where they decided they're going in a different direction and Vinny Testaverde and Drew Henson being the starter going into the season opener. There's obviously something that's happened. I think where there's smoke, there's fire and I think that's the case here with Quincy Carter."

"I think going into training camp it was an open competition. As you mentioned, Quincy Carter was the incumbent and was going into camp as the guy and Vinny Testaverde was brought in to push him a little bit. I know they certainly like Drew Henson and feel that he's going to be a good player for them for a lot of years but then he's not being asked to play this season or at least isn't expected to. Camp had just gotten under way. They just reported this week. They've got a few practices under their belt and all of the sudden, they release Quincy Carter. I think if you're the Cowboys you have to look now at what you've got. I think that means that now, Vinny Testaverde will be the starter and certainly Bill Parcells is comfortable with him. But then it puts either Tony Romo or Drew Henson, provided they don't bring in another guy, your backup quarterback position in disarray with two guys who have no NFL experience."

Aikman further states that he thinks Parcells is going to go get a veteran backup.

Man....I remember Fouts and that Chargers team. Exciting games. Muncie, I remember, of course, because he was formerly a Saint. But, yes, those MNF games with the Chargers and Fouts were great. Dandy Don was always great. Very good insight and pinpoint sarcasm.

Dom Capers is a fine coach. You must be very excited about your new team. Hot and humid as hell in Houston, as I remember, but, it's a great football town. Long drought. Good luck to you this year...:-)

Jerry may be a bozo, but at least he does want to win.

Does anybody know any QB's who might be available, or do you think they will have to affect a trade and give up alot ?

"Jerry may be a bozo, but at least he does want to win."

He can want to win all he wants, but with his constant interference in the previous coaching staffs, he crippled the 'boys chances, i.e. constantly stepping on Jimmy Johnsons toes. The first three peat in Super Bowl history, and maybe four peat was within their grasp until Jones' ego took over, overwhelming JJ's (if that's possible).

I've never been especially fond of Vinny. He is also older and color blind. But, he is a "classic dropback QB" and, under Parcells, It just may be -- maybe -- his time, if he doesn't get killed. I don't care for Dallas. Never have. But, with Parcells and Vinny, I'd put them in the top three NFC teams to do something this year.
