Your assistance is still needed to defeat this unwarranted attack on California hunters and shooting enthusiasts!
SB 1152 (Scott) would treat law-abiding sportsmen and women like criminals by requiring them to submit a thumbprint and other personal information, such as an address and driver license number, each and every time they buy ammunition. Such requirements are already mandated in a few Bay Area and Southern California counties, but no formal studies have ever proven that they help to fight or deter crime.
Imagine being forced to provide a thumbprint for merely purchasing a box of shells for duck hunting or skeet shooting! What's next, a mug shot? SB 1152 is nothing more than unjustifiable harassment of the hunting and shooting community, and would serve as a major disincentive for the public to purchase ammunition and participate in hunting and other shooting activities. This bill, which is currently pending in the Assembly Appropriations Committee, must be stopped.
SB 1152 is scheduled for a vote in the Assembly Appropriations Committee on Wednesday, August 4th. Please call, fax, or write members of the committee immediately and urge them to strongly oppose SB 1152.

Those stupid, stupid Dems in Sacramento. How is Arnie supposed to keep his mini-gun loaded if they pass legislaiton like this?
Sounds like they are trying to sidestep the second amendment.
I would think they would want to do it to keep up with how much ammo you might have instead of to deter crime. You reach a certain number and get visited for "stockpiling"
And what is WRONG with stockpiling?????
Nothing as for as I'm concerned. Just an excuse for the government to stick it's nose in your business. My clip holds 7. I can use a box or more at the range but the media flips out when people have ammo.. "Hundreds of rounds stockpiled" 2 or 3 boxes around here. If you buy different types of shells then "gasp" you have more than one weapon.
Holy cow! It is easier to get drugs then ammo!
Buy my new ammo when I make a run to Vegas - If they start looking at bullets, powder and primers, I'll get them out of state also...
Nuff said....
We are but one governor away from this and like legislation.
LoL. We considered that but my husband feels with the time and expense we wouldn't come out ahead. However if we start having to show ID.....
Reno too. Plus for those who smoke, I notice that in certain Nevada locations, cigarettes are 75% cheaper than in CA...
But it's fun! (Write it off to "entertainment"...)
There's nothing like shooting a tight group with ammo you've loaded yourself -- then "tweaking" the load ever-so-slightly...and then shooting an even tighter group!
That's why I'm moving my reloading shop down to my range -- so I can "tweak" a load, and then turn and shoot a group -- right out the window...
I just purchased 700 rounds of 7.62 X 39 and 400 rounds of .30-06. I think I need a few hundred more .30-06 to feed the Garands. Oh, I almost forgot, I am plumb out of 7.62 Tokarev. About 500 rounds ought to do it. Better get some .40 S&W just for good measure. Oh, an .308! Gotta have .308!
P.S. BLOAT! Buy Lots of Ammo Today!
I don't have my tin foil cap on but the box is near. Everyone should be stocking up right now IMO
What's a good price for just a basic ...what ever it's called? :')
When I was building the prototypes, I called my wife from my lab, and asked her to pick up a box of B-Bs on her way home from work.
The gun dealer told her that MA law required her to show him her "FID" (Firearms IDentification card) before he could sell her B-Bs. (...mere copper-plated steel balls!)
She slapped her MA CCW permit down on the counter, and said, "Will that do?"
She got the B-Bs, the invention worked (very well) -- and I got the patent...
The fun came when I told my boss that buying the materials for manufacturing the resulting product in Massachusetts required a FID or CCW!! < LOL!! >
Unconstitutional laws and bureaucracy...a deadly combination... :-(
(This and my preceding post validate my tagline...)
I thought the McClure-Volker(?) Act did away with all of this crap?
