The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

NEW YORK - Police searched trucks, blocked streets and posted machine-gun toting officers outside financial landmarks Monday, a day after the government's chilling warning that terrorists might target the buildings with bombs.

Also, from what I learned in a YMCA self-defense for women class several years ago:

1) If grabbed from behind, take a deep breath and don't freeze up - this will surprise the attacker and he may loosen his grip.

2) If grabbed from behind, put your chin to your chest and throw your head back hard to either knock the wind out of him or smash his nose or throat depending on the height of you and the attacker. Use your elbows as weapons.

3) If face to face, knee to groin first. Then take the sole of your hand and smash their nose upwards and in as hard as you can. The instructor said this can actually kill someone. If keys aren't handy, two fingers in the eyes may help you get away.

4) If attacked from the side, kick the knee and run your shoe down their shin as hard as you can. Stomp as hard as you can on the top of their foot.

5) A purse can be a lethal weapon if swung really hard.

You've got one chance to get away, so give it all you've got.

I posted a link at #481. Do a site search for Impact Kerambit. It's only $9. But I would recommend the video that you can also get. Maybe another $12.

I don't know how it started, but it's good to know if you don't have a more lethal weapon handy. Kansas passed the right to carry, but the governor vetoed it. It's the same governor who decided to give the ILLEGAL immigrants $19 million for college tuition.

and that there is no indication that it was "tied to any operational plan."

This ticks me off. Of course the data wasn't tied to any operational plan, you moron (not you Davey, the author who left that statement to hang on its own)...

Al Q is compartmentalized. The guy who does the surveillance isn't the guy who designs the plan of attack.

The guy who designs the plan of attack isn't the one who builds the bomb.

The guy who builds the bomb isn't the one who carries out the attack.

Etc.

Leaving this statement hanging out there implies that this surveillance data was worthless information that is no cause for alarm. Phooey.

It matters to us when you say you know what you are talking about - and then don't tell us what....perhaps you could think of some cryptic way of letting us know without revealing sensitive information.

From an information security standpoint, he's already said too much. From a phsycial security standpoint, ours that is, there is no such thing as too much information.

Let me say, there is no force on the planet as powerful; or as enduring as unmitigated and unconditional love. I daresay that ChefKeith could and would slay a thousand terrorists before breakfast to protect his fair maiden from harm. That's just before breakfast. Before lunch there would be the Dragons et al.
