The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

Hazardous waste removal teams are at the scene of an overturned big rig that was hauling chlorine gas near state Highway 1 south of Albion, the California Highway Patrol in Mendocino County reports.

Officer Robert Simas said no contact has been made with the driver and the Highway 1 is closed a mile away from the spill in both the north and south directions. People living within a mile radius of the accident site have been evacuated or are sheltering in place and some gas has been released into the air, Simas said.

The big rig overturned onto its roof around 11:12 a.m. The rig spilled cylinders and drums containing chlorine gas, sulfur dioxide and sodium hypochlorite, Simas said.

A command post has been established a mile from the scene on Albion Ridge Road at the intersection of Highway 1.

Multiple-Vehicle Crashes Shut Down Interstate 80

COLFAX, Calif. -- Three separate crashes in Placer county involving more than two dozen cars and two big rigs shut down part of Interstate 80 Monday.
The westbound lanes were completely shut down between Gold Run and Colfax after multiple vehicles rear-ended each other, causing four minor injuries.


Video from LiveCopter 3 showed one collision between a big rig and a passenger van.


Authorities said the crashes occured shortly after another big rig caught fire and started a nearby grassfire.


Traffic was backed up and being diverted to the Rollins LakeRoad exit.


Authorities expected to have the roadway open by 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. Monday.

The Admiral shouted up, "Okay, now JUMP!"
The sailor promptly shouted back, "F*** YOU!"

The Admiral won the bet.

‘CREDIBLE’ INTELLIGENCE

WASHINGTON -- More financial institutions than previously disclosed may be at risk of attack, and an al-Qaida operative has told British intelligence that the group's target date is early September, intelligence sources said yesterday.

The operative, described as "credible" by British intelligence, told his debriefers that the attack would take place "60 days before the presidential election" on Nov. 2, according to a former senior National Security Council official. On Sept. 2 President George W. Bush is expected to address the Republican National Convention at Madison Square Garden.

Counterterrorism officials are analyzing data from a computer seized in Pakistan last month to see if financial institutions in addition to the five disclosed Sunday are at risk of attack, U.S. officials said yesterday.

Glancing blow to the Outer Banks of NC Likely, some strengthening also likely with falling pressure over the past 6 hours. I would guess this guy will top out somewhere near 100 mph (after passing by NC) before weaking, few people should see major wind affects. Flooding and tornadoes are the greatest risk across NC/Southeast VA.

a Hurricane Warning is in effect from Cape Lookout to Oregon Inlet

be rushed to completion.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect from north of Oregon Inlet to
