The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

P.S. I was only kidding you about "Threads." Threads reminded me how some scenarios are futile, but that was only because I had been thinking too positively before I saw it. Threads offered a sober reality if an event on a large scale ever were to take place.

Miami-Dade County has the highest level of immigrant population of any city in the nation and I teach them. I hate to say, but my observations from the last eight years teaching in an inner city school is that these people have no desire whatsoever to "give back" anything to this country, nor do many of them wish to become citizens. They're here to take and take and take....and if that gets to be uncomfortable, they'll just go back to Haiti or wherever until it's a more favorable climate to take some more. I have stopped asking what percentage of my new classes are willing to sacrifice anything for this country, the percentages are just too depressing. My job is tough enough without that eating at my soul. But God is working in that school! I just found out today that by a miracle, the only three (myself included) conservative Republican Christian teachers in the school are handling all the American Government and economics classes!

Threads just gave me a more accurate description of what we face if that day ever comes. And no one will be able to help us then. I just like to know what's what, and that one was more realistic than any other of its sort. If the inferno ever happens...well, there's no way to be prepared for it. Just wing it from there.

After the next attack that accrues massive deaths, and terrorists are apprehended who claim to have entered our country illegally through porous borders, then this threat will be addressed appropriately. Until then, we're basically talking to the hand.

I was glad to see they got these guys because the operatives (the actual attackers, not the info-gatherers, or the planners) are usually in their 20's and early 30's.

Aren't many in that area Cubans though? I've always thought Cuban immigrants were the most likely to become true citizens. Maybe I'm way off.

The more I think about it, the more I think the mysterious person captured may be al-Zarqawi. I'm trying to connect these dots, but I may be dreaming too.

You are doing a good job connecting the dots, I believe if Zarqawi was in custody the gov't would hold off on announcing if for some time. There have been a lot of leaks from various sources alluding to it though. Then again, I have seen reports that UBL was captured at least 100 times. :)

It is interesting that we got the report of the arrest of the man trying to pass a letter from Zarqawi to UBL. One has to wonder what was in that letter... If he was trying to contact UBL, it was likely something very important (possibly alluding to attacks). The fact that the FBI is so worried about Car/Truck bombs makes me wonder if they had information that Zarqawi helped plan attacks in the US. His specialty seems to be in the area of large car/truck bombs (chem also), he has proven it is a very good technique in Iraq.

That is an interesting article. Too many 'maybes' to make me breath a lot easier though. I will say, the laptop seems to have been a very good find, people have been falling left and right the past few days.

I still think the information he had will likely only uncover a limited group of people. I seriously doubt that he had all the operations AQ was investing in on one computer. Even if he did, we have other groups to worry about.

Let's hope they catch the ones that are here that the feds are worried about.
