When a course of conduct has been acknowledged by the UN or by any of its members as genocide, there is an affirmative duty to stop it.

That is why genocide has not been acknowledged since the end of WWII while it was still ongoing.

Acknowledging it meams having to do something about it, so best look the other way.

My guess this Sudan thing is just the start of a new era in African bloodletting. This is over natural resources, and its serious never mind the liberal boo hoo stories.
