A nice crossover endorsement in a close state. Now if he could only get together with his predecessor (Norm Coleman) and take some Democrats and independents with him.

Wasn't Norm Coleman also a DFL Mayor of St. Paul before the party ran him out for being pro-life?

Oh Man! What do you say to this? Did this mayor really get the message? Is he just going with the political wind? Is Kerry leaking oil? Is this guy the first of many (God I hope so). Is this just an astute RAT fleeing a sinking ship? This has got to be the best piece of news I have heard all day.

Cool. Maybe fewer dead democrats will vote this election, too.

It is possible that this mayor is an honest man. His wisdom is appreciated.

It is possible that he's a politician and sees which way the wind of this election is blowing....in the direction of victory for President Bush.

I agree with that political assessment. The president has yet to have his convention and the democrat convention was an utter failure....no bounce that's statistically determinable.

The president has yet to spend his pre-convention backlog of money. The president has yet to unleash his best ammunition --- which be wall to wall on the news from September to November.

Kerry's supporters have thrown book title after book title, false witness after false witness, and lie after lie at the president and they have not changed the poll numbers.

Bush/Cheney in November. This mayor sees it.

In other related news from Minnesota:

*The [Minnesota] Vikes have extended an invitation for President Bush to attend a practice at training camp. Bush, who will be making a campaign whistle stop in Mankato Wednesday, likely doesn't have the logisitics to set up a side trip toMinnesota State-Mankato, but the team hoped the invitation would allow him to squeeze in a short visit.

Democrats don't gladly suffer those who get off the reservation. Kelly had better stay away from Ft. Marcy park during his next visit to DC.

I doubt if Mayor Daley will endorse Bush, but a few weeks ago he was asked about Bush and Kerry and praised Bush for the war on terror, and said Kerry was uninspiring.

His bold decision is courageous and a welcome move toward working across party lines," Pawlenty said in a statement.

If that isn't the truth. This guy just contracted political leprosy as far as the Dem party is concerned.

As long as there are Democrats out there who 'get it', I'll still have hope for the Republic.
