As Fox News showed in their short-lived newsmagazine last summer, there are other ways to get through the border, such as underground tunnels etc.

When I mean close the borders, I mean above and under ground. I'm not thinking one dimensionally like our some in the current administration.

"Kerry gets such high bumps in his poll numbers, is interesting."

They are so delusional. A 4pt bump, only if they take Nader's numbers and give them to Kerry is the worst bump in history. Idiots, one and all.

kinda makes you wanta max out your citi bank card doesn't it?

I have no doubt they have a back-up set of data ... they'll be sure to find me to pay off that card debt. OTOH, I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to lose my payment on said card:)

I'm really puzzled by your tagline:

(**ONE MORE TERRORIST ACT AT HOME, DUE TO P.C.- BASED OPEN BORDERS, GWB LOSES MY VOTE**)

Not trying to start an argument or anything, just puzzled by what you think that would accomplish. Confuse by it, I guess.

My husband's workplace is on the list. He is unconcerned. Says security has been quite tight all along.

I pray for all concerned that we are able to PRE-EMPT any evil intentions.

Funny, first place I thought about was St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Didn't Peggy Noonan see middle-eastern men taking pictures of St. Pat's a few months ago?

It would be a wise decision to close down the cathedral and guard it heavily until after the convention. Mass could be held in the chapel or a neighboring parish.

I wonder, do they have concrete barriers around it yet?

So people will be more likely to notice and report suspicious vehicles, people, and behavior, which might disrupt attacks and save thousands of American lives. So to answer your question, NO WE CANT DO WITHOUT IT.

O.K. THIS is what disturbed me.

I said before this announcement started.." He better not say to 'go about your business'...and sure enough HE SAID IT !!

A reporter asked him (paraphrased) " Tomorrow is a work day, do you suggest the people who work in these specified buildings, go to work? " , and he answered something like " The people who work in them will be notified of what to do..BUT..we don't want them to win this, and I would think they can go about their business". (That is my paraphrase of what he answered)

THAT made me mad. I know some people just forge ahead..but..THIS is Sunday. How odd is that? Followed up by the Mayor of NYC in a couple hours, and the people should just go into these buildings?

Am I the only one that finds this ODD ??????

Posting as someone who lives just north of said border...

There is NO possible way to actually close the border shy of a 10+ year effort to create the famous "Kuwait tank ditch" type barrier. And then watch them dig underneath it, like their doing to the wall the Marine Reservists have been building the past several years.

It would take a concerted effort by the Mexican government to even begin to stem the flow of drugs and humans that pour north every day. Will Vincente do it? No. So all the efforts that are going on now to stop it will eventually come to naught.

Just my thougts on the matter.
