Honestly folks, I think what did Lurch in, even though his personality falls flat as a brick, the curse of Alborg and KKKlinton did him in. IT SCARED THE HELL OUTTA THE AMERICAN FOLK! The way the anchors were talking about how FAB the rapist was and how FAB it would be to have him back in the WH, SCARED THE S*** OUTTA THE FOLK! Of course the CORPSE and his loony EVITA wife didn't help either!

***seriously, folks...for CNN to admit this so early after the Boston CONNfest, it sounds like an ploy to put us to sleep. :))***

They're probably dropping Kerry's numbers so that when he moves up a bit, they can claim a "massive" rise in popularity.

I hope this is the beginning of the momentum turning in a big way. Lefties are easily demoralized and their support for Kerry is shallow. When the tide turns, their lack of commitment to their candidate will leave him without support.

Oops...ignore my post #120 asking for link. Didn't see #108 with usa today link. Anybody know of a gallup link?

Read usatoday story and the wording makes me suspect the writer was tying the noose and getting ready to throw it over the pipe even as she was writing it. Full of lame attempts to persuade readers that the numbers don't mean what they really mean.

I'd suggest emailing that link to everybody you know as soon as possible. The sooner we quench any media attempt to whitewash the convention the better.

Just because the article misspelled "hamster" it doesn't mean we have to keep it up...
Though I think the official FR spelling may be "Hampster" now...

P.S. Nope, just did a spell check - "hampster" still comes up wrong.

i have not posted in many years (since the clinton whitewater scandals) the thing that bothers me about free republic now is the intelligence level among the newer members seems to have headed south.

to wit, a poll comes out by zogby or others that shows kerry in the lead, its no good, fixed, tainted, etc. then a poll shows bush in the lead, oh, thats awesome, great all is well.

it reminds me of people putting their heads in the sand. do you think that a zogby would risk his credibility by deliberately putting out false polls? these people make almost all their money from corporate clients.

if they were doing that any number of employees could blow their cover at any time and ruin their business.

please people think before you put out these conspiracy theories. they are too kooky and unworthy of this forum.

"the death throes of the D party as we know it."

-- People forget that we didn't always have a Dem-GOP setup. The GOP emerged out of the Whigs over the issue of slavery and combined with other third parties, like the Free Soil Party. Will the Same thing happen to the Dems? Does the left wing of the DNC pull out and join up with the Green Party? Does the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC), "Blue Dog" Demcorats, and other moderates form their own party and pull in RINOs and unhappy Buchananites?

Newsweek polled all adults, Gallup polled registered voters.

Don't discount ratings motives in their analysis. The close elections in 2000 were great for ratings. A landslide victory for Bush won't draw as many viewers.

This is what the early data was showing...great news. Perhaps Bush should give all his campaign money to the Dems since the Dems seem to be helping him so much.

Mark Steyn wrote that Kerry was the none of the above candidate, that after mentally eliminating the various candidates for one reason or another, Kerry got the nomination by default. Now a lot of those Democrats seem to be having second thoughts.
